Sorry to hear that. If you have a recent Time Machine or other backup of your Mac, you may be able to restore your previous Quickstyle settings. As I am on vacation and do not have access to a Mac, I can't tell you exactly which file to restore. Try googling for "Safari localStorage location". The Internet will hopefully point you to a certain folder, and hopefully you'll be able to restore that folder from your backup.

Good luck,

Hello,

It appears disaster has stuck and I’ve suddenly lost all of my custom QuickStyle settings for every website. I was experimenting with AdBlock and AdBlock Plus Safari extensions and turning them both on and off while adjusting their settings/blocklists. I then restarted Safari and then I noticed all the settings for QuickStyle on all website were wiped out. Not sure how this happened, but I guess somehow one of those two or both combined managed to destroy the QuickStyle database.

I’m now attempting to reimplement hundreds of changes as I’m going from website to website I use and it’s probably going to take me many hours over the course of days or even weeks to hopefully get everything back to normal.

Is there any way to back up these settings in the future? I really wish I had a backup of the QuickStyle settings somewhere and I’m kicking myself for not doing it already.

Thank you.

Hi,

Please disregard my previous reply as you have obviously found the solution. Safari used to create only one file for each extension's localStorage, but now you probably should restore all of them to be safe.

Good luck,

I found the answer at the bottom of your web site, but I do have a question about the proper procedure.

There are 3 files there and I replaced them all. Your instruction only note one file, so I’m curious about these other two:

safari-extension_com.canisbos.rightsizer-zanvztser6_0.localstorage-shm  < — 33 KB
safari-extension_com.canisbos.rightsizer-zanvztser6_0.localstorage-wal   <— This was pretty large at 297 KB

Are these files above not needed for the backup?  We only need this following file per your instructions?

safari-extension_com.canisbos.rightsizer-zanvztser6_0.localstorage  <— only about 12 KB

Thank you and happy holidays.

using Sierra 10.12.2 with latest Safari
