Hi all,

Felt a bit nostalgic today and just found cAndy Apple for the first time.  I was first prompted for the Apple IIe rom, which I now have in the appropriate directory and that prompt has gone away.

I'm not sure what to do next.  For the life of me I can't get this program to do anything.  I certainly can't find a menu option anywhere.  I'm on a Samsung Note 4 - maybe there's something that's not displaying properly on my screen?

I have the cAndy Apple logo at the top with two empty disk drives underneath, and large IJKL buttons on the bottom half the screen.  I've been able to get the full Android keyboard to display, but it doesn't seem to do anything.  With some experimentation, I've managed to swipe (inconsistently) to change from IJKL to A, B, or a red button and an old-school joystick icon.  None of these seems to do anything when I press them.

Can someone please tell me how to get started? :(

Thanks much!

Hmmmm.  I'm in the middle of updating candy apple for modern devices.  Material design and all that.
Is there no menu button beside the back, home buttons at the bottom?   There should be the three little dots at the bottom because cA is an older app that used the menu button when phones had one.   About the same time they had track balls and dpads, both of which candy apple supports.  :-)
Maybe google how to get that menu button to show on the note 4.
Come back if that doesn't work.
Sorry for the delay in approving your post.

That's it! The Note 4 doesn't have a place for a menu button at all, so I had no idea what I was missing. A quick google found the answer: long-press the app switcher button.

Thank you so much!

No problem. Sorry the app is so outdated. I'm half way to a new
version with modern controls, proper size screens for modern phones,
etc..

That will be exciting, but in the meantime I'm glad to give it a whirl.  An emulator *should* have a dated feel, no? ;)
