cAndy Apply display not refreshing - keeps drawing overtop of old frames

Hello everyone,

I tried using this awesome emulator on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (SM-T580) tablet, but hit an issue that has made it unusable. The tablet is running either 8.0 or 8.1.

The emulator screen is not clearing when it should. So what happens is the application or game keeps drawing on top of itself making it hard to see anything. If I switch to another android application and back again, then the screen clears as it should and the first screen redraw looks fantastic. That is until the next frames start drawing over top of the prior ones. It is like writing on a chalk or white board, but never removing what was there beforehand.

I can record it with my phone if that will help.

Tried both Wizardy I and Hard Hat Mack, also both the colour and white display settings with no change. Does anyone have any idea of how I can resolve this?

I have been meaning to root my tablet and install a custom firmware, but haven't due to time constraints. But that would serve as a backup option if needed.

Well, I ran a quick test on my Samsung galaxy S9 plus smart phone and Wizardry 1 works fine. It is running Android 10, so is newer than my Samsung tablet. Perhaps android 8 just doesn't work or contains a setting I need to flip. If no one has any ideas before the weekend, then I will attempt to find time to root my tablet and install a different android version.

Are there any android versions that are ideal or to be avoided for cAndy Apple?
