candy apple on nexus 6? lollipop?

I'm starting some work on the next version and I tried running candy apple on the nexus 6 emulator. It fails with out of memory which seems odd. Anyone tried running candy apple on an N6 or any other lollipop device? I'm still waiting for lollipop on my xperia z3.
