Problem on Google Pixel

Hi. Still playing this emulator after all these years and 4 different phones. I recently got a Google Pixel 1 (at big discount since they rolled out new ones) and have install C.A.E. only to run into a wired page flipping issue. I've tried several different images and two different ROMs with the same results. Here's a screen shot of what's happening.

The emulator starts then starts flashing as if doing a page flipping. What's more if I turn the power of on the emulator it keeps on going.

Yah, I removed it from the Play store because it does the same on my pixel 2.  Something has changed with Android 7 or 8.  It worked fine on my old Sony Z3 which was stuck at Android 6.  I won't be able to look at it for a while/months so my apologies.
