You might not think that the 700HP V12 all-wheel drive Aventador needs to be either faster or more eye-catching. But with fifty years of iconic supercars in their back catalogue, Lamborghini probably knows best.

Just one hundred Aventador LP 720-4 50 Anniversario models will be produced worldwide, making it a rare sight, even by Lamborghini standards. The design changes, which are intended to optimise the aerodynamics, include larger, extended front air intakes and aerodynamic splitter together with small flaps set into the sides. The rear end treatment is completely new and features an enlarged diffuser and expansive meshwork that improves heat transfer from the engine bay.

Lamborghini claims that the aerodynamic changes have optimised handling stability at extreme speeds without impacting drag characteristics. Compared with the Aventador LP 700-4, aerodynamic efficiency has been increased by more than 50%. Helping to make the most of that aerodynamic improvement, the 6.5-litre V12 in the Aventador LP 720-4 50 gets its own engine calibration, making it 20 hp more powerful than the Aventador LP 700-4. With its lightning-fast ISR transmission, the anniversary model accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 350 km/h. Besides its extremely long name, the LP 720-4 50 Anniversario gets a number of changes from the normal Aventador. Each example will come in a special yellow body color (other colors available via special order) and features more aggressive aero treatments up front and in the rear.
