Spark is a electric jester who had been fired from his job, and replaced by a robot named Fark. Fark, is also a part of a mysterious army of robots, who is taking over the city. Spark goes on a quest to get his job back, and prove he's the better electric jester than Fark. He encounters many tough robotic opponents, yet still pushes through the games 16 stages. In Smog City he meets Tropos, and Romalo. After Romalo gives Spark some insults he leaves due to an unknown reason, commanding Tropos to fight Spark to the death, thankfully Spark wins the battle, ending the storys prologue.

Upon reaching the end of Sunset Heights he meets up with Fark, while having a conversation Spark makes the deduction that other people might have lost their jobs too, then its revealed that the robot army plans to rule the entire world at some point too, Fark asks Spark to leave, and live a happy life, then when Spark refuses he leaves, and forces Spark to battle Metal Crow. When Spark defeats the crow he jumps on to a ship but, suddenly the plane crashes, and lands in Lightoria Bay. Later on in the stage he meets up with Romalo again, who exclaims how he loves holograms, Spark, remarking on how back in the days he was still in Jester school, he saw videos of Lightoria Bay, with Romalo in it but, he never thought Romalo would be evil. After Spark, and Romalo fight (Romalo presumably using holograms,) Spark comes on top with the win, with Romalo disappearing.

During the opening cutscene of Mare desert Spark meets up with Kerana in which they had previously fought in Kerana Forest. Kerana informs Spark that Romala actually used to be a good person, and wasn't always evil, he suggests that Romala might have been hacked. Later in the stage, Spark meets Prototype who tells Spark that he is the leader of this whole robot army that is taking over the world with prototype aggressively telling Spark to just die, they battle. But, when Spark defeats prototype a mysterious robot comes out of nowhere, and attacks prototype, destroying the platform Spark was on, and landing him in Luna Base. Immediately at the beginning of the stage the robot who destroyed prototype confronts Spark, it is revealed his name to be Freom. Freom (holding prototypes head in his hand) immediately destroys prototype in cold blood after accusing prototype of pretending to be him. Freom tells Spark that he wont kill him if he doesn't go near "the computer," then Freom leaves.

Spark proceeds normally, and later on in Caria Valley, he meets Seam, and it's revealed that the Freom army is also making this a war against the Military, however he also states that its "more than that." They both fight, as per usual Spark come out on top, and continues with his story. During Reynol Complex, Spark fights Megagram, Megagram states that at the end of Sunfire Forest he will find a tower that will have Spark find what he's looking for, Spark goes to the tower right after beating megagram. In the middle of Sunfire forest, Spark finds Romalo, who states that he's now fixed, and no longer has the Freom Virus. This is implied with Romalos new appearance. He acts much more nicer to Spark, and compliments him (unlike his insults from earlier.)

However, he brings him to a mysterious base which shows enemies from earlier in the game. Its found out that these enemies (Kerana, Seam, and Megagram) were actually repaired by Dr. Stewart Armstrong. But, they weren't exactly repaired, it turns out Freom can control every robot using a virus hes made called the Freom virus. He just happened to cure them from the virus. A transmission comes on from the doctor, he reveals that he's the original creator of all modern A.I. He states that he has created what is known as Project Megaraph, which is a giant computer tower, that creates robot intelligence, and codes robot intelligence. Due to attacks by activists Armstrong felt that he needed protection, so he created Freom, but obviously that was a big mistake. So he created Fark to spy on Freom, and backstab him when the time was right but, it seems Fark hasn't found a opening for all of this time. This makes Spark no longer have ill feelings towards Fark. Armstrong asks Spark to beat Freom, Spark accepts, and they take Spark to the Megaraph fleet.

In the level, Spark, and Fark battle it out to end things once, and for all, mid fight Fark uses the super staff, which is a powerful jester power, this turns him into a Super Jester form. Like as literally every other battle, Spark wins, and proceeds to go, and fight Freom. When Spark finally confronts Freom, Freom states that he plans to build a utopia where robots, and humans live seperately, Spark calls it dumb, Freom gets upset, and turns on the Megaraph, then they fight. However, right when it seems like Sparks won the battle... He grabs the jester, and gets ready to kill him, it seems like Sparks lost... But, right there, and then Fark wakes up, and throws the super staff to Spark, turning him into Super Spark (Super Jester power.) He uses the power to fight Freom one last time, and at the end of the battle sends a giant blast at Freom, defeating him.

The game contains Spark in a two dimensional plane, where he can move left and right, jump, attack with the use of the attack button and a direction, dash, and hold up to two abilities. Spark will gain a large amount of speed by using the curvature of slopes, which will increase his momentum, allowing him to bypass obstacles such as loops and upward walls. The player can hold the attack button to charge up Spark's charged up attack, which will vary depending on whether or not his gauge has been built up. By dashing right before an attack hits Spark, you can parry an attack.

Spark can collect many Jester Powers, all with their set of powerful attacks and mobility options. Once a Jester Power has been collected, another one can be collected, holding the previous ability for use whenever needed, Spark can change into his held Power at any point by pressing the left shoulder button, though if another power is collected while another is still held, it will replace the former.

Spark is not the only playable character however, as his metallic impostor, Fark, is also playable in his own (non-canon) story. There arent any jester powers available to collect in this mode, and he has a unique gauge that fills up by using his unique parry move. Independent from his dash, Fark can parry at any point, both in the ground or in the air, halting his momentum. Unlike Spark, Fark's parry changes depending on the timing. Parrying too early will shine an orange aura, giving you little energy, parrying perfectly will shine a turquoise aura, giving you a larger amount of energy, and parrying too late will parry the attack, though Fark will take knockback and lose some energy rather than health. Fark's attacks include a multi-hitting jab, an upward slash, and two downward bolt attacks. The upward and downward attacks will change depending on whether or not they have been used in a short amount of time (?), giving them both more range.

If Fark parries enough times to fill up his gauge, he will turn into Super Fark, which changes his color palette and gives him a green staff. This gives his main attack more range, though it does not make him invulnerable to enemy attacks, in fact he will go back to his base form if he takes any damage, as he loses energy if he gets hit. Fark can also indefinitely dash in the air and climb walls in a similar fashion to the Edgy Jester power.

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Superhuman Athleticism, Enhanced Senses (With Radar Scout), Martial Arts, Acrobatics and Surface Scaling (Can run up walls and across ceilings with ease), Homing Attack (Spark can lock on to enemies and objects then dash towards them for an attack), Fourth Wall Awareness (Speaks to the player in the tutorial), Teleportation (With Snap Portal), Weapon Mastery (Can skillfully wield swords, hammers, lances and much more), Electricity Manipulation (Spark's hat allows him to control electricity), Damage Boost and Statistics Amplification (With Overcharge), Energy Manipulation (With Energy Dash), Energy Projection (Spark can fire projectiles with his powers), minor Attack Negation (Spark's energy shield can block and parry attacks from enemies), Self-Sustenance (Type 1, can survive in space with no problems), Vehicular Mastery, possible Fusionism (After beating Spark the Electric Jester 3, a playable fusion of Spark and Fark named "Sfarx" becomes playable), mild Resistance to Fire and Heat Manipulation (Can be damaged by lava, but still function normally afterwards)

All previous Base abilities except for Electricity Manipulation. Flight (Wind Jester, Gravity Jester and Cool Jester allow Spark to fly in a variety of ways) Air Manipulation (With Wind Jester), limited Gravity Manipulation (With Gravity Jester), enhanced Surface Scaling (Edgy Jester allows Spark to freely move up and down walls and ceilings), Water Walking (With Board, Spark can use it to ride across water), Fire Manipulation (With Fire Jester), Magic (With Magical Jester), limited Transformation (Spark's Jester Powers slightly change his appearance), minor Intangibility with Reaper Jester (This power-up allows Spark to perform a dash where he can't take damage and phases through attacks for a brief moment), Plasma Manipulation (With his Plasma Sword)

Attack Potency: Large Building level (Has fought and defeated numerous robots more than twice the size of cars. Can trade blows with Fark, who can trade blows with robots of this size), likely at least City level (The events of Spark the Electric Jester 2 take place only a short amount of time after the first game, so Spark is most likely comparable to Fark during the events of the second game due to defeating him previously. Fark can trade blows with Freom's new body. Freom stated that with his new body, he could incinerate an entire city in the blink of an eye, implying that this level of power isn't even his strongest), higher with weapons and Jester Powers, even higher with Overcharge (This module increases the damage Spark deals with his attacks) Planet level (As Super Spark, he defeated Freom and blew up his ship. Freom stated that the Earth was kept in place by a weather unit in space, and that he was going to destroy the weather unit and wipe out the planet. With Spark's strongest attack, he fired a laser of this size, destroying Freom)
