Hello,

I am validating a sample file that contains the following code snippet.

 <author typeCode="AUT">
                <templateId root="2.16.840.1.113883.10.20.22.4.119" />
                <time value="10/24/2018 13:49:52" />
                <assignedAuthor>
                  <id root="2.16.840.1.113883.3.3322" extension="UH-1067374-72339" />
                </assignedAuthor>
              </author>

The HL7 CDA schema indicates that slashes and colons are not allowed in the time value element.  However, the CRV validation tool does not appear to generate CDA schema-level errors when validating the sample file(s) I upload.

Thank you,

Max

Unfortunately, the tool does not currently validate against the underlying HL7 CDA schema. We do have plans to include this functionality in a future enhancement of the tool. In the meantime, we strongly recommend that you validate files against the relevant schemas using a tool such as an XML editor by associating the schema included in the implementation guide package (https://www.hl7.org/implement/standards/product_brief.cfm?product_id=398).

Thank you,

Wendy

Hello Wendy,

Thank you very much for your response and confirming that the Implementation Guide schema and schematron should also be used to validate the CDA messages created for the (f)(4) Transmission to Cancer Registries certification criteria.

Have a wonderful day.
