You may remember I called out a while ago asking if anyone was interested in forming a Ruby team for GovHack.

I managed to get a team together (though sadly Hugh couldn't join us except for a while on Friday night). We ended up splitting our hack into two components. The back end piece was Ruby, frontend Angular and D3. I'm really happy with what we achieved, especially since as it turned out I was the only experienced Ruby dev there.
