ODE TO POPPY: (16-9-2006--27-6-2018)

Prancing, pirouetting Poppy

is no more.

Eyeing me around the corner

Darting towards the door

No more.

Grabbing leash to foyer

Bouncing with excitement

Slow walks with sniffies,  leakies, runs and stops

Brown coat glistening, eyes alert

Poppy is no more.

Walks are faster now

carried weightless in a heavy heart

Poppy forever more.
