I know you can use the connection function for API's etc..But is it
possible to open up a socket connection... I want to use TCP sockets
via ipad or iphone to connect to a local / remote IP address on a
certain port and send a ASCII string then parse the response from it.

Keep up the great work Canappi is AWESOME!

Lee,

Canappi is using ASIHTTP Framework. So far, the "Connection" metamodel does not support sockets. I'd be happy to look at it if you have a more precise use case.

The generated code is completely open, so you can easily modify to suite your needs.

JJ,

Thanks for the prompt response! The goal is for some control /
automation features. We use some network devices that we want to fire
some commands to on a certain port. I can discuss more with you
privately but I don't want to get into too much detail on here. Just
curious if this is something Canappi could add to their connection
function or create a new function/wrapper for handling sockets.

Basic principle would be to have some stored commands within App or
feed dynamically, then have the app create a socket connection pass
the commands and read the feedback then close connection or possibly
keep-alive...

Thanks so much,

Lee
