Hi all,

The new (Facebook) group now has 39 members, slightly more than half are
new to this group. I am quite hopeful and expectant that many are
interesting Anglicans (read more opinionated even than I) and
informatted (having read at least one book about Anglicans or
religion). Once again, if any of you are having concerns about how to
make the change just ask on the list. If no one else offers to help, at
least June or I will.

Hmm. Well, I found the group, and requested to join, but I guess there's some formality, even though it's an open group? My photo hasn't appeared and I can't post.

Bruce:  I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but I can’t reach the CANANG Anglicans Facebook Group without going through something that takes me to the website which offers the chance to click on the Facebook group entry.  I’m thinking that on a certain date, that will change?  Or am I missing something?

Thanks,
Jean.

Can you try again please, Linda.  You should be able to read and post.  If it doesn't work, please send me an email and I'll try to figure out what's happening.

Hi Jean,

What you did was did a search for *Canang Anglicans*.  The name of the group is *Canadian Anglicans.*

When you did the search for Canang Anglicans, FB realized there was nothing like that on FB so it automatically popped you into a web browser search for sites named as such.  Then you got a page with a bunch of listings.  When you clicked on one (likely the top one but the others would have worked as well), it sent you to the website as you've described above.  In response to you're "I'm thinking that on a certain date, that will change" the answer is "nope."

The problem was a simple one - it was in your initial search.

But, I've just manually added you to the Canadian Anglicans list sooooo ... no need for you to do anything else except start a conversation - join in one that's already there.  To do that, follow the typical FB way of communicating - when you're on the Canadian Anglicans FB page, scroll down and you'll see what's already been posted.

- When you want to make a comment, click *Comment*.
- If you like something you want people in your personal FB community to know about, then click "Share".
- If you want to let the person who wrote something know that you liked it, click "like."

Welcome aboard!  And, welcome to Lance and Linda too.  You've made it across to the FB group too.  :-)

Many thanks for this, June!  I wasn’t careful enough to note the correct name – dumb me!  I look forward to keeping in touch again.

Blessings, gratefully,

Not a problem, Jean.  Happy to help out.  That's what I'm here for.  :-)

It may take a bit of time for people to get onboard with the new format/FB culture, but eventually, FB's Canadian Anglicans will be chugging along with conversation.

Blessings to you,
June

I received an e-mail notification of Jean's FB post. I hope that will be true of others as well, because I don't lurk around Facebook all day!

June and others,

One of the problems of telling people to "go to Facebook and search for Canadian Anglicans" is that the search results are often biassed by previous searches.

Better to simply give the URL:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/cananglist/

One click and you are there!

Good one, Michel.  :-)    Though, if someone is already in FB, it's easy to type in *Canadian Anglicans* --- it seems to be the first option that pops up on the screen and then, one click and they're there.   So, both ways work. Yay!

Dear June,
You say ‘when you are on the Canadian Anglicans FB page...’ does this mean I have to do something to get there?  Or do I get the posts on my usual postings for the day?  So far I haven’t seen anything, though I get your book making and soulistry posts...
I don’t have a clue when it comes to Facebook, which I find very confusing and unnecessarily complex.
Sigh.
Mary.

You've done it, Mary.  :-)

Yes, FB can initially feel confusing and complex but once you've been there for a while, things begin to gel.  If you have any problems, just drop me a note.  Happy to help out to the best of my ability.  And, welcome to the Canadian Anglicans group.  :-)
