So what do you think about the design?
we are talking about that
k lemme know and I'll share ours
okey okey
we are working on do a laberinth where there will be different places
Okay... javier mentioned that he would like us to keep in mind while designing that we are not trying to simply represent the action (relaxing) but rather figure out what elements about a place/experience bring ON this emotion. then build the architecture around that
We had a similar thought, as in multiple places hidden within one whole
But the path to each should be long enough to force thoughts away from everything else, and focus to be put on the path and eventually the experience of the install, emt
*installment
I think an interesting precedent would be the "pleasure gardens" of antiquity
We could look at those gardens and see what tricks and methods they used to create privacy despite closeness
but also look at Philippe Rham, he's an architect who uses very distinct architecture with temperature manipulation to create the desired effect
Introduction.
When our body begins to relax, are manifested in a number of processes that allow our bodies to reach that state. A number of biological phenomena allow our muscles to relax and your mind starts the idle state.
The way in which our senses interpret reality creates different reactions in our body indirectly, they are the primary means.
Approach
But ... Are there other ways to generate the same processes in our body that are not directly related to the relaxation?
Our objective is, from interacting with the senses by certain environmental factors, creating a space for relaxing in its most pure, prompting the mind to relax unconsciously. In this way, the user experiences a series of sensations that gradually submerged almost ideal environment for relaxation.
Investigations
Touch: After some discussion and references, our Canadian colleagues concluded that the feeling of experiencing zero gravity or dead weight exerts a reaction in the body relaxing.
· View: "Research suggests that the dim green light increases the production of dopamine in the brain and provide a soothing feeling. Addition, the artificial blue sky helps create a mild form of sensory deprivation that will help them turn their attention to inward and distract them away from daily stress. "Professor Richard". Smell: "A team of Japanese scientists have just demonstrated that the smell of lemon, orange, basil, mango, lavender, cinnamon and other plant fragrances modifies gene activity and blood chemistry in a way that reduces stress levels. Their findings are published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry. According to the researcher Akio Nakamura count and his colleagues in the study, humans have inhaled the aromas of plants since ancient times to try to reduce stress, fight inflammation and depression, and induce sleep. Most of the substances used for this purpose contains linalool, a terpene present in more than 200 plants. Using rats, has shown that aim Nakamura linalool restores elevated levels of neutrophils and lymphocytes which accompany stress to almost normal values. Moreover, their research shows that inhaling this substance reduces the activity of over 100 genes related to stress”. SANZ, Elena. Olores anti-estrés. Sound: It has been shown to concentrate on the sounds of your body, try to feel the flow of blood through your extremities, even hear the beating of your heart, helps clear the mind and leave it blank. This amounts to a powerful relaxation process, some even meditation, separating your soul from the body and the environment around you. Moreover, we have discovered the world's most relaxing song, which, after several studies, use strong point changing tempo of the song one progressively slower. This generates an adaptation of our body unconscious pace, so that the body gradually relaxes while the rate slows.
Taste: "If proteins accelerate and get ready to learn and thinking, relaxation usually come in the form of carbohydrates (potatoes, pasta, rice, honey, bananas, nuts, popcorn ...). These foods induce insulin release, which removes blood from almost all amino acids except tryptophan, which exerts a sedative effect. As demonstrated Judith's husband, Richard Wurtman, a neuroendocrinologist who also works at MIT, tryptophan is the raw material used by the brain to produce serotonin, the neurotransmitter welfare, it also reduces pain and appetite and helps sleep. Of course, as noted Wurtman, must take into account that if the dish is mixed carbohydrates with proteins, the calming effect of the first is canceled. Solutions.
Touch: Devise a structure that will house a surface height stretched by its perimeter. It will be a network that can support the weight of a person and keep hanging in the air to simulate the feeling of weightlessness.
View: A series of faint green light bulbs routed around the structure and the user who sits on it occur in the same gradual release of dopamine, with a calming effect. Moreover, some lights dim blue light focused at the ceiling, generate a fake sky, distracting the user's attention inward.
Smell: Devise a citrus juice that dosificaremos throughout the environment because of the subject inhaling linalool, reducing levels of neutrophils and lymphocytes that accompany stress to near normal.
· Sound: Another main element enjoying accompany the installation, is a special stethoscope that can extend the sound of the heartbeat, so that the user can concentrate on the sounds of your body. This happens while a rhythm developed by us, which will start at a rate equivalent to the heartbeat in normal state, to slow down to a rate equivalent to the heartbeat in a relaxed state. In this way, unconsciously, the user prompts your body to calm down, running more slowly, slowing your metabolism and decreasing your heart activity.
