Position: Sr DevOps Engineer

Location: Oakland, CA or Alpharetta, GA (Onsite - Local Only)

Duration: 6+ Months Contract

Job description:

They are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience in DevOps tools, CI/CD automation, and scripting, along with solid expertise in middleware platforms such as WebLogic and JBoss. The ideal candidate will drive automation initiatives, streamline deployment processes, and support enterprise-grade middleware environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and YAML-based workflows
• Develop and maintain automation frameworks and reusable workflows to improve deployment efficiency
• Build and maintain scripts using Shell, Bash, Python, YAML, and PowerShell
• Manage and support middleware platforms including: WebLogic 12c / 14cJBoss 7.4 / 8.1
• Automate application deployments, patching, and environment provisioning across middleware environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, and infrastructure issues
• Collaborate with development and QA teams to ensure smooth integration and release processes
• Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and DevOps best practices

Required Qualifications:

• Strong experience with DevOps tools and automation
• Hands-on expertise with GitHub Actions and YAML workflow design
• Strong scripting experience in Shell/Bash/YAML and Python or PowerShell
• Hands-on experience with: WebLogic 12c / 14cJBoss 7.4 / 8.1
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, release management, and automation practices
• Experience troubleshooting pipeline failures and deployment issues

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to Azure Cloud (AKS, App Services, Azure DevOps)
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with Terraform and ARM templates

• Experience working in enterprise multi-environment setups
