Toronto Dominates Fraser Institute's Elementary Schools Report Card

Thirty-seven elementary schools have tied for the top spot in an
annual report card of Ontario's schools.

The Fraser Institute report looks at 2,812 elementary schools across
the province, including public and separate schools, and a small
number of private schools.

Twenty-four of the top schools are in the Toronto area, including 16
in the city of Toronto.

Nine of the top schools are in southwestern Ontario, three in eastern
Ontario and one in the north central region.

Eighteen of the schools are public, 17 are separate and two are
private.

The report is based on nine key indicators that are derived from
province-wide tests of reading, writing and math skills, administered
by Ontario's Education Quality and Accountability Office.
