Telus Bells Rang

In Claresholm, "The Hit" also found himself in trouble.  In the spring he would ride his bike out of the trailer court, and then he rode down a gravel rode on the outskirts of town to an area where he could ride in the fields near Claresholm.  He was caught by the police with a soft ball game going on in the background on the outskirts of Claresholm in the northwest corner of the schoolyard.  He could have easily outrun the situation, but he was quite sure the police knew where to find him in the small town of 3000 people.  Rather than getting a warning he was charged with a 400.00 fine for no insurance.  The school year finished with "The Hit" not doing all that well.  He passed all his courses, but he had a very low average below 60 percent.  Eventually, the summons date of his ticket arrived in July, and the then 16 year old hit refused to pay the fine in court.  He suggested that the court might want to put him in jail for riding a motorbike 1/8 TH of a mile down a gravel road on the outskirts of town to a field where he could ride.  He refused to pay!  He was eventually sentenced to 100 hours of community service by the judge.  He had the money for the fine, but it just did not seem quite right to punish him with the maximum fine charged by the police officer.  Life was hard enough as Claresholm had just lost a graduate "The Hit" new in a automobile accident.  "The Hit" negotiated to start his community service after he went to Saskatchewan in August.  He had a feeling Harvey's Run might just work in his favour this time.  There was also something not quite right in the Lamplighter Pub that night!
