POLITICO French Constitutional Court backs Canada trade deal
France’s Constitutional Court today gave its blessing to the EU-Canada trade deal following a complaint by 60 lawmakers who said it was incompatible with the French constitution.
The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement “does not include clauses that contradict the constitution,” a ruling announced today said.
The complaint against the trade deal was filed in February.
