Party for Space Enthusiasts!
Thursday, April 12, 2001
Petrie Building
York University

On April 12, 2001 the world will be celebrating Yuri's night
<http://www.yurisnight.net> -- a.k.a. "The World Space Party" -- and the
Canadian Space Society will be hosting an event in Toronto
<http://www.css.ca/yurisnight.htm>.

We will start off with a tour of the observatory at York University and move
from there to a suite at the Primrose Hotel downtown. For those who don't
wish to visit the observatory, the suite will be open all evening. General
timings are as follows:

Thursday, April 12, 2001

7:30 pm Gather on the third floor of the Petrie Building at York University.
(Or at the Primrose Hotel if you wish to skip the observatory.)

7:30 - 8:30 or 9:00 (depending on the observing conditions) Tour the
observatory and do some stargazing.

After the tour: Join us at the Primrose Hotel (Suite # to follow) for a
reception for some fun and camaraderie. Have some pizza, watch some
movies/space videos, and chat about all things space until the wee hours of
the morning (remember, it's a holiday on Friday, so no work -- woo hoo!).
Bring some memorabilia, space art, photos ... whatever will enhance the
space theme.

Hope to see you there!

The Canadian Space Society is a grass-roots space advocacy group, a unique
combination of amateur and professional interests pursuing the human
exploration and development of the Solar System. With some of Canada's top
aerospace experts and engineers on board, the CSS is made up of people of
all backgrounds and interests, including teachers, environmentalists,
writers, and marketers. The CSS holds free regular monthly meetings in which
formal presentations are typically given by individuals working in the
Canadian or international space community, including astronomers, aerospace
engineers, professors and business representatives involved in various
aspects of space exploration and development. We have been holding such
meetings since July of 1983.
