On January 24, 2000 Straight Goods (http://www.straightgoods.com) goes
into daily publication. Straight Goods is Canada's on-line watchdog--
bringing you citizen journalism and protecting your interests daily.
It's a consumer and citizen watchdog dedicated to saving you money,
protecting your rights and untangling official spin.

We believe education, child and family issues are critical for a
watchdog publication like ours . We’ll be following these issues
constantly. Our inaugural issue, for instance, features a personal and
moving story by Pam Fitzgerald whose son is a recent victim of
schoolyard violence. Her story shows that schoolyard violence is up, but
many Canadian schools are either unwilling or unable do anything about
it due to severe central funding cutbacks, such as those experienced in
Ontario. Fitzgerald writes about this growing and disturbing trend in
detail and offers tips on how to respond in ways that help everybody
involved.

Every day, Straight Goods will carry new Web journalism from working
journalists across Canada. Every day, they present the goods on things
that matter to you and your family - your money, health and health care,
the environment, consumer products and services, public services, media,
and much more.

Please visit www.straightgoods.com every day and make it your homepage.
Straight Goods will grow in strength as the number of visitors to our
site builds.
