Hi all

Does anybody know of a boat salvage yard in the
Ottawa/Montreal/Kingston area that would have old out drives and what
not? I'm looking for some parts for an old Mercruiser drive and have
had little success.

Too bad the local marinas are closed for the season ... I've seen bits and
pieces here and there ... maybe next spring ... but uselesss outdrives seem
to sell as scrap aluminum ... and don't get any ideas ... my dog has teeth
and knows how to use them :-)

Finding a boating "bone yard" isn't as simple as for cars, although I have
heard of them.

The marinas that I know don't close in the winter. They may hibernate a
little, but there's still someone answering the phone, and they will
certainly do "indoors" jobs like outdrive work.

Try Gordon Marine in Gananoque (and say I sent you). www.gordonmarine.com

Here in Brockville, we have several eminently qualified people who might be
able to help or at least advise you. Talk to Chris at Brockville Honda
Outdoor Centre, or Jim at Mobile Marine Repair. Email me privately if you
want phone numbers - they're probably in the book.

Thanks for the great information. I'm hoping mabe they'll have some
old stuff hanging around. I'm restoring a 69 AristoCraft 19 with a
Mercruiser 120 outdrive and the outdrive is pretty bad. Needs a
complete rebuild and all new seals. Problem is some of the parts are
out of production and are getting hard to find.
