UAE is the most pro western Arab country in World,they are fighting
against terrorism just as any Western country is doing.They have
leased an air base to Canada for ten years at NO COST. but the Harper
government has permanently damaged the ties between Canada and UAE.
When Canadians will get rid of this son on bitch Harper,Canadian don't
need a rock signer,they need good and smart politicians such BOB and
Igny.

Iggy and Bob Rae would be a disaster. Rae had a 6% approval rate in
Ontario at one point. Iggy can't figure whether to live in his French
villa or plead with his "fellow Americans" for a second chance at
Harvard. Better Harper than someone permenantly confused about his
nationality and a NDP retread.

The critics should be tickled pink that doing war stuff in Afghanistan
just got a lot tougher for Canada. Why would anyone bemoan the loss of
access rights to this base if they were anti-war? Why would anyone
knock the government for defending Canada's sovereign interests, such as
who gets access to our skies and airports? Are you really a globalist
wolf in a protectionist's clothing?

I'm not a Bob Rae fan because he was a turncoat to his own party and many of his
ideas to cure the economy of the time were used by Mike Harris, but Harris was
blamed. Then there was that day where he said "I was always a Liberal" and jumped
ship. I'm not a NDP booster but you just can't depend on a politician who acts
like that.
But think of it this way. Bob Rae was in agreement with "Taliban Jack" Layton when
it came to the ludicrous notion of negotiating with the Taliban. Now General
Patraeus speaks of negotiating with the Taliban.
Bob Rae (with Pink Floyd Laughren as Ontario Minister of Finance) drew heavy
criticism for blowing a shit load of tax payer money and "Spending Ontario out of
the recession".
Later, when the shit hit the fan under President Bush, there wasn't a single
developed nation that didn't do the same to right the ship and bail out the
economy.
Bob Rae is of a Jewish family. He's hardly an anti-semite.
I support the mission in Afghanistan, but support bringing our troops out of a
combat role even more.
I think the Harper issue to do with the United Arab Emirates airlines having
special treatment is cutting off our nose in spite of our face because I have no
problem with foreign airline competition. It's called capitalism.

Indeed they do, but the cost to the Canadian taxpayer for the remaining period of
our combat mission in Afghanistan has been increased substantially and instead
should have been open to negotiation, not simply a "No, fuck the consequences".
We face that shit all the time in this country from other nations. The UAE thing
was almost a knee jerk response.
On the other hand, I have little use for middle east nations because they have
nothing to offer Canada but being a pain in the ass. It's not like we depend on
them for anything.
Well, there was a guy from Iran who trained for the Vancouver winter games with our
squad, so they owe us big time. :)

Countries in the Arabian peninsula are sponsoring terrorism more than
fighting it. What I find hilarious about this whole issue is that the
reason why the UAE is pursuing it so vigorously is that outfits like
Emirates Airlines are state-owned. Then people turn around and start
screaming about government interference and 'free markets' when it comes
to Air Canada.
Maybe Dubai Bob should have taken you with him on his tour - you
could've been a translator. (You do know his wife is Jewish, don't
you?)
