Our liberal government must think the Canadian people are idiots when
they whine about conditions "today' causing the massive increase in
the projected deficit. All of the ''conditions" today existed during
the campaign; low and falling dollar, crashing oil prices, U.S.
economy slowing, but that didn't stope them from making promises they
knew damn well they couldn't meet. But those promises were enough to
get Canadian voters line up like sheep to vote them in.

Most infrastructure is built and supported by provincial & local governments and their
taxpayers. If it can't be maintained in an adequate condition it shouldn't have been
built in the first place. If the feds want to throw cash at local infrastructure as a
method of short-term economic stimulus, then who supports it when they're gone?

OTOH if the feds want to do things like eg. 4-laning the Trans Canada Highway through all
the National Parks, which is their sole responsibility, they can knock themselves out.

Why don't you ask Wynne? Ontario's infrastructure is a bloody mess and
her and gang have been in power for a decade. Notwithstanding that
little fact, the provinces are responsible for far more infrastructure
than the feds.

With the NDP and Liberals saying the stimulus wasn't enough. Turdeau has already broken his promise to run a modest 10 billion dollar deficit it only remains to be seen how huge a hole he will dig.

I think we both agree on the abortion issue. All 5 of the major CDN political parties are pro abortion and Turdeau has made clear he won't revisit the issue.
