Would like to take some time and reflect on the signature below
'All I really need to know about Islam, I learned on September 11.'
and then just say...

All I realy need to know about America, I learned from the inocents that
died during the vietnam war and lets not forget america kill thousands with
atomic bombs. America is a cruel, brutal and self righteous nation... o yes
forgot to mention inocent afgans that died in the recent war and I assume
america will get great joy out of killing civilians during the next war.

I am sure there are many people that dont realy like you America and someday
it will come back to haunt.

I hope your not suggesting we eliminate free speech, cause thats the
only conclusion that can be drawn from your statement. I thought your
country was founded of free speech one step short of yelling fire! in
a crowded theater. Oh.... I get it, your not American after all, your
just trying to make them look stupid aren't you? We'll it's not gonna
work, were on to you, we all know a true American wouldn't make such
an ignorant statement.

[SE] All I needed to know about George Bush I knew before the second Tuesday
of November 2000.

Everything I needed to know about American insularity, arrogance and
ignorance I have learned from the last line of the thread above.
Unfortunately, it is a few bad apples that spread the appearance of rot to
the rest.

Cheers!

Obviously, the poster who wrote "All I really need to know about
Islam, I learned on September 11." was joking. It's politically
incorrect humor -- the best type for my money. I'm sure that the
reference to the internet being American is a joke as well, playing on
the fact that the internet is an American invention. However, the
vividly simplistic, anti-American comment in reaction is clearly not
meant as humor. In this sense it IS NOT equal to the comment that
preceeded it.

As far as the death of "innocents" (I presume he meant civilians and
quasi-civilians here) go, most Americans think that such deaths are
unfortunate. Yet, any rational being will understand that collateral
damage will occur in most large scale military operations. What is
morally necessary is that 1)soldiers, officers and civil governments
try to avoid civilian death to the best of their operational ability,
and 2) nations should not impliment large scale military operations
except for apparently necessary and good causes. In every instance the
American government, people, and the vast majority of it's soldiers
have consistently done these things throughout the Twentieth century.
The exceptions are few and have always occured due to rogue bands,
such as at the tragedy at My-Lai.

If anything will come back to haunt America it will be the selective
forgetfulness of an ungrateful world, the majority of which have, at
best, fumbling ideas about, and lack-lustre dedication to the
principles of free government(present British company excepted). Not
to mention dangerous political games played by jealous continental
European powers in the UN and in continental Europe itself. Right now
leftist politicians in Germany and France make political hay out of
"Palestinian oppression", while playing footsie with latent
anti-semitism disguised as anti-Zionism. Presently, European powers
are only too happy to assign the UN real governmental powers though
the UN has no moral authority to wield them. Is Europe so impatient to
paint the US into corners that it forgets popular sovereignty? And as
I write this pro-EUers plot the aggrandizement of EU power without any
honest discussion of what European Federalism will mean to Europe's
present nations. The impatience of many European powers to accend the
stage of world power is evident -- they will mongrelize thier own
national traditions and muddle thier own sovereignty to do it.

If Britain is wise and just it will reject the trends of the
continent. Indeed, though I think that the war against Iraq is
ill-advised (though not necessarily unjust), I can say atleast this
much for Tony Blair: he is no lapp dog for either Kofi Annan or the
Franco-German EU.

All I say about this is that everybody has an angle/agenda/motivation just

All I meant by the posting was that the attitude displayed by the "quoter"
of that quote is a dangerous one. Sayings like that could lead to another
holocausts, I admit the way made my point was harsh but I hope I made my
point clearly. When I read the quote to my fellow office workers(most of
them are American) they were shocked and did not see it as a joke either.

Send me your address. I'll send you one US dollar. Take it, go buy a
sense of humor.

I was joking about the internet.
Not about my Islam quote.
And it is dangerous. Islam is a gutter religion. Muslims NOT desiring
the deaths of Jews or Christians are NOT following the koran and are
not true to their faith.
Those islamist scumbags who drove planes into our buildings, killing
our people are true muslims. Those wanting Jews and Christians dead,
especially American Jews and Christians dead, are true muslims. Those
muslims who are 'peaceful', tolerant and do not subscribe to the jihad
are NOT true muslims.
The taliban would have them killed for not following the true tenets
of their faith.
The taliban were true muslims.
Now you go and read that to your fellows.
Make no mistake. This is a religious war. The new Crusade starts
when Bush enters Iraq. The new Crusaders have better weapons this
time.
I desire 300,000 muslims dead. One for each American killed September
11.

I disagree. "Funny" is relative to the observer. "Joke" is relative to
the teller. If it is intended as a joke then it is a joke, though it
may not be a funny joke.

Of course, but not everyboby's "angle/agenda/motivation" is equally
moral or rooted in defensible opinion. Any philosophy or method that
rejects or diminishes the sovereignty of the people in government is
dangerous and cannot rationally be condoned by a people that value
human liberty. And anyone who thinks that the Palistinians hold moral
ground above the Israelis has a warped view of what is right and
wrong. Any moral ground the Palestinians held was destroyed when they
began sending children strapped with plastic explosives into civilian
crowds to commit murder/suicide. Israel does what it needs to to
defend itself. And peace should and could have already been made if it
was not for an intrasigent Arafat, who in turn coerced Israel into
military action by ordering suicide bombings.

I actualy agree with you there but then again, both side are acting like
children and unfortunately it is the inocent that suffer... I think <start
of a "not to be taken serious" statement> all the isreali and palastinian
politian/activists should be made to fight it out and stop harming others
around them <end of the "not to be taken serious" statement> They both kill
and they both do it unjustly and indiscriminately, and I truely dont see any
end to the conflict... and it does not help if countries like america and
other western nations and also some of the arab nations encourage their side
of choice.

I come from a country that saw the worst of this type of conflict (not just
in urban terrorism but also during the angola-southafrican war where
america/isreal/etc help SA and cuba/etc helped angola)... and (thank god) we
found a way out of it... South Africa is not perfect and there is still many
wrongs to be righted but things take time...
