Wow!! I've been waiting for this one! YES!! Someone else was there!! I was
there twice. Once from 63 to 65, and also from 70 to 78. I am certain that
my dad knew your dad. My dad was W/O Robert "Red" Smith. He was with AETE.
Have a peek at my bio on the brat list for details.

Getting to the bio page (more affectionately referred to as the Brat List!) is easy.
Just go to http://www.hub.org/brat_web/. We're all there!

As for me, I'm now thirty.......something!!! No, seriously, I'm 38 now. I did all
the schools at Cold Lake from MacKenzie (Grade 6) through to GCHS. I live in Toronto
now. I mentioned your parents' names to my mother, and she remembered as well.

Anybody else do Cold Lake? Come on!! I know you're out there!!

Yes, I did Cold Lake from 62-64. i was in high school (Beaver?) My
second favourite base (next to Baden). I curled all winter (do they
still have the 9 sheet rink?) and played golf all summer. They had a
pretty seedy 9 hole course then. Has it improved. It was easy to get to
the course. Our pmq backed right on the highway going out the main gate
and i just had to walk to the course and enter at the number 8 tee. I
remember playing 54 holes one day. I think I started at 3 am. and
finished in the evening. Went to the show at the rec centre (15 cents)
and got a terrible cramp in my left leg. I started howling and drove
everybody crazy. I loved that place. It was great for teens back then.

I was in Cold Lake from 69-72 -- lived in Beaver. My last name was
Bagnell then and I would have been 8-10 yrs. old. Also have an older
brother Bobby who would have been 13-15. My father, Bob, was an air
traffic controller. My mother, Riki, worked at the base radio station
(remember when bases had their own radio stations?!?) and she also
worked at the Canex snack bar. She did a radio show called Beat & Sweet
-- ask your mother if she remembers THAT one! hehe!

By the time I had left Cold Lake in 78 the golf course had developed quite nicely. I'm not
a golfer, but, boy, was it a nice place then!! My teen years were great there, too. My
first job was at the Rec Centre, cleaning the floors on weekends. Bought my first stereo
with the "proceeds"!

I was in Cold Lake in 68-69 before shipping off to Royal Roads. I graduated from Beaver
River High in 69. Has anybody heard anything about a reunion for BRHS?

I knew a Ken Hedley-Smith when I was in Cold Lake (62-64). He was the
son of a minister, if I remember correctly. Is this You?

Hello,

I knew Ken Hedey-Smith in the 66-71 period in Vancouver (he was from Cold Lake). Did you ever find out what happened to him?
