We were in Trenton from 1967 to 1975.
Lived off base for the first few years on Whitley Lane, and then moved
onto McGill for the remainder. Had Hermit's Hill practically in my
backyard.

That hill saw lots of action early this winter with all that snow we
had. For some reason, it just doesn't look as big as it did when I was
younger. :o)

I was in Trenton 1962-1971, but we lived off base too, in Bayside.
Attended Bayside elementary school and St. Mary's.

I knew some people at Bradner (?) school...but I mostly remember only
first names.

yeah, Breadner Public, went there for grades 1 and 2. Had this cool
husband and wife combo for teachers in grade two, Mr and Mrs Woodcock.
I was really surprised to visit Hermit's Hill a few years ago, they MUST
have taken part of it away! It used to be a REALLY BIG HILL!

Frankford??? Is that the little hick town north of Trenton that has
those folks in it that resemble the ones in the movie Deliverance? :o)

Us Davis's lived in Trenton from '71 - '75 First year on Dundas St
near Dominion grocery store, then over to 9B-Regina Cres for 3 years,
so we also had Hermit's Hill in backyard.

My very first home was 21B McGill, right at the base of Hermit's Hill.
(On a later posting we lived on Regina and had Hermit's Hill "out back.")
I happened to see a map the other day of archeological remains of ancient
native groups in Ontario, and there was a cluster of seven or eight burial
mounds in the area around the mouth of the Trent. Do you think ...?

When were you there, Pat? We lived at pmq 23, just across a little
field from you (well, I remember a "field", definitely some grass!)
I sure hope it wasn't at the same time as us, because i remember pulling
a nasty trick on the people in that house, egged on by a troublemaking
babysitter!

We were there way before your time (early fifties), although we also lived
there 63 to 67 on Regina. The creek ran between 21B and 23 McGill, didn't it?

I always thought that Hermits Hill had shrunk. I remember rolling the
big sewer pipes when they put new sewers in, half up the hill (we got
tired) and riding down inside them. We lived on Lawrence drive from
63-70 and on Third Ave near Trenton High from 62-63.

Speaking of maps....... is there a web site around that might have
maps of CFB's?

Hi Mimz!

You know, I think I remember Andre, because it seems to me he came to a
Christmas party at our house. He was the cute young guy, right? I
certainly will say hello to my father for him, and say hello to Andre for me!
We were in Lahr at the same time too; we went over in 69 as well.

We lived at 41a McGill from 1969-1972 attended Breadner school across the road, and spent a great deal of time at Hermits Hill when it was a big hill.
Good to see neighbors.

Yes, from June 1, 1949 until November 4, 1954, first living downtown on MacLellan Avenue, near the park; then at the corner of 6RD Road and Highway #2, then at 10 St. Hubert Street; attending school on 6RD base until the Kindergarten Annex was built and is now Breadner Elementary and then for Grades 1 to 4 at AVM Bradner which is now Ecole Elemntaire Publique Cite-Jeunesse.

Visited in 1987 during the summer when back east for two job interviews and looked at the old school, the old house on St. Hubert, all over the South Side of the base as I got toured by a PR type and bought a book on the history of CFB Station Trenton, as it is mentioned in a novel that I am writing, called "The Delta Armageddon".
