Good Thursday morning. Welcome to day 33 of the campaign=2C

A pair of polls out yesterday put the Liberals and Conservatives neck and=
neck with just a few days to go. An Ipsos poll for Global News (https://g=
lobalnews.ca/news/8191108/canada-election-ipsos-poll-dead-heat/?utm_source=
=3DSubscriber+-++Hill+Times+Publishing&utm_campaign=3Dcbcced01b2-Politics-=
This-Morning&utm_medium=3Demail&utm_term=3D0_8edecd9364-cbcced01b2-92461148&mc_cid=3Dcbcced01b2&mc_eid=3DUNIQID) has the two tied at 32 per c=
ent of the vote=2C pulling from a survey of 2=2C001 Canadians between Sept=
=2E 10 and 13. That marks a slight dip in favour for the Tories=2C according=
to Ipsos=E2=80=99 tracking.

Abacus Data=E2=80=99s daily tracking=2C meanwhile=2C has Prime Minister Ju=
stin Trudeau=E2=80=99s Liberals ahead with 33 per cent=2C while Erin O=E2=
=80=99Toole=E2=80=99s Conservatives have secured 31 per cent. Both pollste=
rs findings are well within the margin of error for the results to slightl=
y narrow=2C or widen.

The NDP garnered 21 per cent support in the Ipsos poll=2C and 22 per cent=
via the Abacus survey=2C which tracked feedback from about 1=2C500 eligib=
le voter between Sept. 13 to 15.

=E2=80=9CThe Liberals and Conservatives remain in a statistical tie nation=
ally. The Conservatives have clear leads in the Prairies whereas the Liber=
als have leads in Ontario=2C Quebec=2C and Atlantic Canada. BC is a close=
race overall=2C=E2=80=9D according to the Abacus summary. (https://abacus=

The P.E.I. Greens=E2=80=99 rise to become the official opposition in 2019=
signals that the province=E2=80=99s voters are tired of =E2=80=9Cpolitics=
as usual=2C=E2=80=9D which could translate into increased support for the=
Greens at the federal level=2C politicos told The Hill Times (https://www=
=2Ehilltimes.com/2021/09/15/green-party-targets-p-e-i-seats-in-rare-campaign=

=3DUNIQID) . Green Party Leader Annamie Paul signalled the same outlook th=
is week in a rare visit outside her Toronto Centre riding to campaign with=
local candidates. Of the four Liberal-held ridings=2C Malpeque may be in=
reach of the Greens after longtime Liberal Wayne Easter has stepped away=
from politics=2C and 2019=E2=80=99s second-place finisher=2C Anna Keenan=
=2C is up again for the Greens.

And=2C just five days out from election day=2C two New Democrat candidates=
have resigned from running based on social media on Israel and Auschwitz=
=2C prompting NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh to address and condemn a =E2=80=9Cs=
cary rise in anti-Semitism.=E2=80=9D

The party said it supported the choice of Sidney Coles and Dan Osborne=2C=
who questioned whether the concentration camp was real. Both have promise=
d to learn more about anti-Semitism in the wake of their past public comme=
nts=2C according to The Canadian Press. (https://globalnews.ca/news/819182=

Ms. Coles has since apologized for her comments=2C per The Toronto Star=2C=

aselessly claimed Israel was somehow responsible for missing doses of COVI=
D-19 vaccine in the United States.

Ms. Coles was running in Toronto-St. Paul=E2=80=99s=2C Ont.=2C where the p=
arty secured third place in 2019 with 15.8 per cent of the vote=2C and Mr.=
Osborne was running in the Nova Scotia riding of Cumberland-Colchester=2C=
N.S.=2C where the party was fourth with 12 per cent).

=E2=80=9CAntisemitism is real. We=E2=80=99re seeing a scary rise in antise=

=2C which he=E2=80=99s visited several times this campaign and where forme=
r NDP MP Tracey Ramsey is running again.

In other examples of public contrition=2C Alberta Premier Jason Kenney has=
apologized for his government=E2=80=99s handling of the pandemic in the p=
rovince=2C which has declared a state of public health emergency and intro=
duced new measures to stem the spread of COVID-19. This just months after=

=E2=80=9CIt is now clear that we were wrong=2C and for that I apologize=2C=
