Senior RF Engineer (planning)


RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for the RF design and optimization of wireless networks
systems;
Works with team members to create detailed system designs utilizing an RF
propagation tool in accordance with customer provided design criteria and
internal process and procedures;
Researches and procures RF modeling tools to create propagation models and
system designs that can be turned into detailed Bill of Materials for system
implementation;
Works with the site acquisition team to select sites, perform site surveys,
conduct interference studies and run propagation models to finalize sites;
Creates the frequency plan and conduct capacity analysis;
Works with the project manager and implementation teams to ensure that all
work is completed and that the system is ready for service in accordance
with the overall program schedule and original design specifications;
May be required to create and execute RF system performance customer
acceptance testing (ATP) and some form of post cutover support;
Is also responsible for leading RF system drive testing for RF propagation
model tuning and system optimization. This includes drive test post
processing and definition of actions to improve system performance.


QUALIFICATIONS
Familiar with one of these Radio Network Planning Tools:
Planet EV;
Asset;
Map Info;
Atoll;
Metrica;
EDX (ICS Telecom);
Pathloss (Microwave);
Other Tools : NetAct, TEM Planner; Xcal, Xcap, ORCO, RF Visual.
Good knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office;
Highly desirable knowledge of project's local geography and previous
experience participating in the design of wireless telecommunications
networks countrywide;
Familiarity with QoS and industry standards involved in IP network designs
is also desired.

QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical or Electronics Engineering,
preferably with emphasis on RF or Wireless Communications
Minimum 5 years experience designing and/or deploying wireless
communications network equipment;
Extensive experience in the design and optimization of a CDMA and/or GSM
network;
Experience with RF propagation tools and predictive modeling techniques;
Experience with wireless backhaul, microwave radio design, configuration,
management, and deployment is required;
