This is truly a smorgasbord of the bizarre...

A glimpse into the psyche of the tormented and over medicated, if I may be
so bold.

shall I summarize what I've read so far?

...yogic flying, (VFR/IFR...take your pick?);
...Fluoxatine (Prozac...Hey Barb...it's not working. It's supposed to make
you happy);
...Annie Sprinkle, (yep, the porn star ...'muff said...oops I mean, 'nuff
said);
...Frankenstein, (a'la Mary Shelley...no comment);
...How to perform fellatio, (wasn't he a character in a Shakespeare
play?...."Alas, poor Fellatio! I knew him...a fellow of most infinite jest,
of most excellent fancy. Here hung those lips that I have kissed I know not
how oft...blah...blah...blah")

...just to name a few

Man, this is getting quite annoying. troll this, troll that. I read this NG
because of my interest in military matters, not for usless ranting and
s**t-fights that are completley unrelated. It was pretty good for that a
month ago. Then I lose internet for a a while, come back, and all this. If
someone is annoying you and is posting completley off topic rants, ignore
them and "Don't Feed the Trolls"! I beleive there are functions in most
newsgroup readers that can take care of that. If someone tries to stir
stupid things up, just don't dignify them with a response since that's
exactly what they're trying to get. Of course I'm sure this post will fall
on deaf ears, and will serve little more than being a usless rant of my own,
for wich I appologize. This will hopefully be my last post on the topic, as
I'm going to follow my own advice.

Those are the files from my old Chebucto Community Net Homepage
that I put up in 1996. Many Chebucto Community Net accountholders
put stuff on their Homepage. My closest woman friend (now deceased)
who had a Chebucto Community Net account put up an excellent Homepage.
Her father was an officer in the Canadian Forces (Navy). One of her
brother's is in the Canadian Forces and her other brother is a police
officer on the Halifax Regional Municipality Police Force.

It wasn't a waste of my time at all. It was a learning experience.
I figured out, on my own, how to use HTML, granted there's lots of
errors, but I got stuff to magically appear on my Homepage, and
that was exciting, fun. It got some good reviews from other Chebucto
Community Net accountholders who linked it to their Homepage. Norm
DeForest (CCN accountholder), for e.g., had it linked to his Homepage
and sent me links related to Black history and feminism. Women liked
my Women Writers page. A law student in N.B. who was involved in some
poverty discrimination case sent me email asking me for sources related
to poverty. I became offline friends with several people who emailed me
about my Homepage. It's also on the WWW and generated some email from
other countries, including email from people with disabilities who
linked my Homepage to theirs. When I was a Chebucto Community Net
accountholder, my Homepage used to get in excess of 5000 hits a day.
Many people, mostly men, said they really enjoyed the time they spent
on my Homepage and kept going back for more. Many of the links are no
longer accessible.

Steve McCullough used to visit my Homepage. During the first hate
campaign to get my Chebucto Community Net account terminated
(initiated by "Mr.X"), Steve made the following post in response
to "Mr.X".

She's supposed to be the one who engages in bitter and
unsubstantiated attacks? From what I have seen so far on these
newsgroups you must be posting things like this because she is
consistently more insightful and eloquent than you, and because
it's consequently very easy for her to make you look like a fool.
Then again, your many ranting postings have quite effectively
convinced me that you are a cretin.

I have visited Barbara Amero's home page many times and find it
intelligent and witty. I think it is a great compliment that you
want her to "settle down" -- and a telling statement about how
you look at women with attitude and will. Just because you [feel]
threatened by a woman who relentlessly shows you up you feel
compelled to make her out as a psycho.

As for her attempts to unmask you, why are you hiding behind a
*childish* alias? What exactly have you got to hide? Now you're
trying to bully her off usenet because she's not letting you hide
behind your hoped-for anonymity. Too ashamed of how your statements
look in the cold light of day? I guess because you couldn't win
head-to-head online you've decided to try and silence your
too-tough opposition. It seems to me that you're the one with
something "against equality" -- you can't defeat her one-on-one
in the newsgroups logically or with style so you've decided to go
crying to daddy (or, more accurately, Big Brother).

the bastards get you down!! ***

I met Katherine Mazerolle through my Homepage. In 1997, she wrote
an article, "A look at the 'netiquette' and controversy surrounding
newsgroups," that was published in the magazine "Maritime Computer
Connections." In that article Katherine Mazerolle writes:

My favorite newsgroup is ns.general.... Last time I was there,
a very heated discussion about challenging the "status quo"
was going on. Seems Barbara Amero is one Nova Scotian woman
with a lot to say. As I read through the thread I could feel
the animosity of other posters toward her, men and women alike.
Well this thread got downright nasty, complete with name calling
and cursing. Nothing was sacred, comments about lifestyle, work
place habits, even threats. Kind of sounded like a debate in the
House of Commons. These cyber people were not going to quit unless
Barbara relented. They were literally wearing themselves ragged!
The flaming went on and on, bosses, heads of internet systems,
even the police were involved. I had to keep checking to make
sure that my computer was not overheating.

In all seriousness, what really scared me was that some of these
people wanted Barbara silenced so badly that they were willing to
censor her by trying to have her account taken away, saying that
ns.general was not the place for a discussion about women in Nova
Scotia. A thread called "single mothers' with over 500 posts
exploded into an ugly war of words spawning new threads such as
Barbara Go Away.

[...]

People feel that they can and will get away with whatever they
want to say. We don't have to shut them up, we can simply shut
them off. Nobody forces anyone to read or believe anything.
ns.general IS the place to have discussions about Nova Scotians....
there is a discussion going on about the Film Review Board and yes
Barbara Amero, who is a real person, using her real name, is still
voicing her opinions because that is her right. It is a right for
all of us...." ("A look at the 'netiquette' and controversy
surrounding newsgroups," Katherine Mazerolle, Maritime Computer
Connections, May, 1997, Vol. 2. No. 2).

Katherine Mazerolle was going to give me some extra copies to send
to friends in other provinces, but when she went to get them, she
discovered they were all sold out. She said, that's the first time
all copies of an edition sold. Before that edition of Maritime
Computer Connections hit the stands, I had posted a message to
ns.general noting that there would be an article published in
said magazine in which ns.general would be mentioned. :)

Oh, and someone sent a complaint to Chebucto Community Net about the
"FUCK the Communications Decency Act of 1996" link on my Homepage. :)
The complaint was about the word FUCK. That was the title of the
website on the WWW. That complaint was brought before the Chebucto
Community Net Policy Committee, though John van Gurp, Chair of the
Chebucto Community Net Police Committee at the time, said the
complaint was quickly dismissed. It shouldn't have been brought
before said committee. That's how some people waste their time.

I have enjoyed being a woman with a modem. :) And there ain't
a gawd damn thing you fuckin' idiots in here can do about it.

Is someone trying to force you to read the useless ranting and

bombs?

BTW, why do you write s**t for shit? Do you think people
read s**t as _ s asterisk asterisk t _ or as shit?

For what, the, as you say, ranting and s**t-fights? Oh, you
must mean military matters. Have you read my posts on RAPE
IN THE MILIARY and woman abuse in military families. That's
military matters tho' it don't seem to matters to members
of the military in here.

that mean someone is annoying you? If so, you know what to do.

The rest of your post shows little in the way of wit, but much in the ways

Well, if you go and look at my previous post I admitted that I goofed when I

I wrote was that I suggested to people not to correspond with Babs. My posts

Well, Felix, you actually tried to _order_ people to stop. A slight
difference, and as was pointed out, kinda resented. By the way, are
you implying that freedom of speech is moronic, or are those who
advocate it simply morons? If I may be so bold as to make a

it before hitting "send." If you do you may find that your balls will
be mauled less frequently.

No, I just made a suggestion/ advice, and I never implied that freedom of

freedom of speech to critically and too far sometimes. I know freedom of

Quit the bullshit, Marilyn B.

You followed me from Modem Moms to ns.general, from ns.general
to can.community.military. I've been thinking about posting to
alt.necrophilia to see how long you'll lurk there before posting.

After "TeamBronze" got the boot in ns.general, a friend said... now
that Marilyn and Donna's "TeamBronze" online and offline friends are
gone and you (meaning me) are gone, for the most part, from ns.general
and posting to can.community.military, let's see how long it takes for
Marilyn to start posting to can.community.military, to become a
'regular'
on can.community.military.

Look at this thread you're posting to. There is no doubt that you
knew who the thread was about before you hit on any of the posts.
Years ago, you claimed to have put Amero in killfile, that you
didn't want to read any Amero posts, but that didn't stop you from
reading posts about Amero, from talking, talking, about Amero.

Did you, Marilyn B., talk to the police yet about the illegal
activities you were privy to on the "TeamBronze" private mailing
list? "J.R. Warwick" stalking Robert Speirs in Speirs' parents'
neighbourhood? Then reporting the results of his "stalking"
activities to the "TeamBronze" private mailing list. Licence
plate numbers of cars in Speirs' parents' driveway (btw, that
was, actually, a neighbour's driveway. A list of the names,
addresses and phone numbers of every resident who lives on the
same street as Speirs' parents. And, what did the poster who
exposed J.R. Warwick's activities mean when he mentioned what
J.R. Warwick had planned for Speirs and Amero, huh? And, you
know, Marilyn B., it really isn't "way kewl" for a N.S. Justice
employee (Mike Lindsay aka Albert Prozac, member of "TeamBronze")
to actively try to figure out how to get into Amero's private
e-mailbox, and then forward the information to the "Teambronze"
private mailing list, i.e., tell the 'team' how to get into
Amero's private e-mailbox, information that was then posted
to ns.general telling readers how to get into Amero's private
e-mailbox. And, it's really not "way kewl" for "TeamBronze"
members to peek in Amero's private e-mailbox, steal the headers
of Amero's email and post such to ns.general. (Yes, that is
stealing, Marilyn B.) And, it's really not "way kewl" for a
bank employee to tell her "boyfriend" (Darren Woods) stuff that
goes on at work, work related stuff, and it's really not "way kewl"
for Darren Woods (member of "TeamBronze" at the time) to post it to
the "TeamBronze" private mailing list. Gee, it was so conscientious
of Darren Woods to want to go to the media about what was going on
at that bank, but I can understand his reasons for not doing so.
BTW, how secure was Darren Woods' clients' email on his server? Oh,
and, if Ned Douglas really is the owner of Amherst Sears, I wonder
if he has any bronze accessories in stock. Is "Neddy" Douglas really
Pete Dexter <teamb...@hotmail.com>?

That crew of thugs and brutes you're mixed up with that physically
went to posters' neighbourhoods and places of emplyment to stalk
them is as bad as Ken Pangborn, Joe O'Connor and Mr.X who harassed
me and Stacy Alexander (and others). Your friend J.R. Warwick is
Leo Bonacci, isn't he? That's the Leo who made the direct threat
to kill me if I don't shut up now. Ken Pangborn threatened to have
someone rape Stacy Alexander. Oh, AOL finally terminated Ken Pangborn's
account in 2000.

Was Mr.X really John Jenkins Sr.--your now deceased friend?
A woman in Ontario posted that John Jenkins Sr. was Mr.X. For
readers who don't know, Mr.X appeared in ns.general one night,
made about 25 posts attacking me, and went on to launch a hate
campaign to get my CCN account terminated. Stacy Alexander and
her husband (a professor in the U.S.) had been his previous
targets. About 6 months after Mr.X disappeared from ns.general,
John Jenkins Sr. appeared in ns.general with the same M.O. as
Mr.X who had posted from Lonet in London, Ont., but John Jenkins Sr.
was posting from Newfoundland, so I didn't think he was Mr.X. However,
I later found a post made by Jenkins in which he said he'd recently
moved from Ontario to Newfoundland. Well, I'll never know if John
Jenkins Sr. was Mr.X and maybe you don't know either.

When I called Lonet to make a complaint about Mr.X, I felt as tho'
I was talking to Mr.X himself. Maybe I was. When the Lonet employee
asked for my home address, I refused to give it to him. An odd request,
I thought.

But not odd that you, Marilyn B., should show up in this newsgroup,
making posts to "Is this really what she wastes her time doing??",
Any plans for the "team" to regroup? You musta had a decline in
membership when Donna Whitman used the name of her disabled,
multiply-challenged son to make posts attacking Amero, huh?
That is so repugnant.

An afterthought. After you, Marilyn B., claimed to have put Amero
in killfile (periodically announced that you have done so, you
continued to read Amero's words in reply to others' posts that
you hit on, and to comment on Amero's words.

After you hit on Jason Elliot's post, you knew gawd damn well that
Jason Elliot was replying to a post made by Amero, but you read it
and commented on it. What _IS_ the rationale in putting a poster in
killfile (periodically announcing such in your posts) and then reading
replies to the poster you have killfiled???

I don't have killfile, but I have willfile. When I use willfile, I
don't announce to the world that I am using it, unless someone asks
why I don't reply to so-and-so's posts. And, when I hit on someone's
post that is a reply to a person I have willfiled, I don't read the
post.

Again, what _IS_ the rationale in putting a poster in killfile and
then reading replies to the poster you have killfiled??

I am asking you, Marilyn B., directly in this post because I know
you read my posts.

Since you won't want to acknowledge that you read my posts, perhaps
someone else would be kind enough to reply to this post and ask
Marilyn B. what _IS_ the rationale in putting a poster in killfile
and then reading repliest to the poster you have killfiled.

Your opinion doesn't matter Felix because freedom of speech, within
certain specified limitations, is a right not a privilege. I agree with
you that there are some, I don't know if they are morons or not, who
place so much emphasis on rights they forget that along with rights
comes responsibilities. The responsibility that comes with freedom of
speech of course is the responsibility not to use it to slander, libel
or promote hate.

You told, ordered people not to reply to my posts. You have told me
what and what not to post. You tried to dictate what people should
or should not read. Some of those people are in the Canadian Forces
and claim to be protecting our country, to be risking their lives
to keep our country free, so we, even Amero, can enjoy our RIGHT to
freedom of speech.

You mean the ones who are anti-censorship?

At least you know something.

You are free to express your opinion, but your above stated opinion
makes you look like a moron.

Freedom of speech is a RIGHT. Since 1981 the Charter of RIGHTS
and Freedoms has provided a constitutional guarantee of freedom
of expression. This RIGHT, however, is not absolute. Section 1
of the Charter provides that all rights are subject to such
reasonable limits as can be "demonstrably justified in a free
and democratic society." (This section has been used by the
Canadian courts to justify a variety of forms of censorship.)

I like to think that I am dedicated, but more importantly, that I do a half decent job. You
can have all the dedication in the world but if it takes you three days to do a three hr
tasking, whats the use..

While replying to the ridiculous cow is offensive to me, this to too easy.
"Freedom" of speech (actually, freedom of expression) is a "freedom", not a
RIGHT.

I forgot to cite my source: Peter Sim, Free Speech in Cyberspace.
Peter Sim is a lawyer. Peter Sim said, freedom of speech is a right.

> While replying to the ridiculous cow is offensive to me,

I am neither a cow nor ridiculous, but men like you who call
smart women such names probably feel manly doing so and not
inferior, huh.

Freedom of expression (which includes speech) is both a RIGHT and
a freedom. The Charter guarantees this right to freedom of expression
("subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be
demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society"). However,
the constitutional guarantee of freedom of expression only protects
against censorship by government action (Peter Sim, Free Speech in
Cyberspace).

What is the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms?

The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, known as
the Charter, is a far-reaching document contained in the
Constitution Act, 1982 . It guarantees to all Canadians
rights to liberty, equality under the law, and freedom of
religion, expression, association and peaceful assembly
among other things. It is the supreme law of the land.
This means that it, normally, takes precedence over any
federal or provincial law. That is, if any legislation,
either provincial or federal, conflicts with the rights
guaranteed in the Charter, it must be amended appropriately
or it is likely to be struck down by the courts.

Since you snipped the text, I don't know who are the people you're
talkin' about. Our government sends the military off to murder in
the name of the Canadian people, criminalizes dissent, horribly
abuses the most vulnerable members of our society, and commits
other atrocities. I have been abused by government agencies, the
police and justice system in general, members of the military,
physically assaulted by an on-duty police officer and my rights
violated by other on-duty police officers. I would not call that
'their efforts to protect me'.

If such as forms of government are dead, the alternative need
not be what we have - a dicktatorship, also called representative
democracy. Our form of government should become extinct, immediately
if not sooner.

You are an idiot. And my name is Barbara, not Barb.
