About 1 year ago I was diagnosed with moderate hypertension (high blood
pressure 155/95) and due to a family history of hypertension my doctor has
put me on a daily dose of Captopril (a very common med for the very common
condition). I've been on it for 12 months with not even the slightest side
effect and my blood pressure is now consistantly in the perfect range
(120/75). My family Dr is not at all concerned about my flying. My aviation
medical is coming up soon and I've been told that my Private License may be
in jeopardy as a result. This seems a tad ridiculous but thought I would see
if anyone has been through this? Can anyone shed light on how Transport
Canada views blood pressure issues and Captopril.

Have your doctor call the head medical examiner for a better answer.
My doctor said they want 3 good readings in a row (say, every 2 weeks
apart)
