Hello!

I'm looking for some industrial tapes for a Lazair II Ultralight for
taping skin on the plane form a source WITHIN CANADA.
A name and number of a place where I can get these tapes in Canada
please.

I have tried contacting 3M directly, but they only sell in bulk.
Companies they referred, also only sell in bulk.
Tried sign makers and auto people...nothing.

I mainly need the 2 sided tape, someone told me it was called
TLC banner tape; high adhesive 2 sided clear for tacking the
mylar/tedlar.

Also need the clear tape sticky on one side for places like the leading
edge and so on, I believe it's one of these:
3M 9443 1 x 60 yd.
3M 4085 1 x 72 yd.

this is all I have to do to get my plane flying.
thanks
A

I used TLC Banner tape.
It has excellent adhesive.I used it to attach tedlar to the wing tips.
Tight as a drum.
It is used in the sign industry to hem banners as opposed to sewing
them.
The clear one sided is 3m packing tape. But the heavier variety.
All this must be protected by an opaque tape to prevent UV from
degrading the adhesive.Still should protect the skin from the elements
when not using the plane.Especially in southerly latitudes.
Try 2 or 3 mil sign vinyl in metallic silver.Has a 7 year warranty for
permanent outdoor exposure in all seasons.
Comes in 15 " by 5 yd roll.
Em Plastic & Electric and ND Graphics will most likely carry it.
Don,t tell em it is for an aircraft.
If you need the foam tape,it is 3M VHB 4950 @ whatever width.
Remember that the tapes mentioned in the Lazair Manual is old tech.
Early 80s. Todays demands have created much better adhesives.

I don,t understand these repeated attempts when I gave you all the
sources.I even sent you a private msg.
I gave you the #s and CDN companies that carry them.
I use them and so have others.
The clear one side is plain old packing tape and it comes in a variety
of thicknesses.
