Good afternoon,
MSF UK have recently launched a campaign on people seeking sanctuary, “Sick of Asylum.” Because we’re sick of the dehumanisation, sick of the cruelty, and sick of policies and practices that harm the physical and mental health of our patients and service users.
Our teams working in the UK and northern France see the mental toll and compounded trauma of hostile policies and a legal system stacked against people seeking sanctuary, and how the UK and France have created a manufactured humanitarian crisis in places like Calais and Dunkirk. You can see, sign, and share our petition here.
You are also warmly invited to join us for our webinar on 22 July, 18:00-19:30 BST, where we will hear from frontline MSF staff who work to treat the medical impact of asylum practices, as well as from our advocacy team about their work to pressure the UK Government to change the system. Sign up here, and please feel welcome to share. Hope to see some of you there!
Many thanks,
Kate
