Can: What does it take to heal from mental illness?
"Can" (amongourkin.org) is a 65-minute documentary film (2012) that depicts a first-person account of 37-year-old Can Truong, a refugee who was among the millions of boat people who fled Vietnam, as he searches for healing and recovery from Bipolar Disorder. It is one of the first documentary films which highlights the experience of mental illness from an Asian-American perspective not only from the point of view of the patient, but also of his father and mother.
