Streaming live from the White House (www.whitehouse.gov/live) Fri., May 10, 2013 at 9-10:30AM, the first part of the White House Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Briefing on Suicide Prevention and Mental Health will feature a federal panel of government leaders in behavioral health. Join us for this live broadcast and learn about the Obama Administration’s efforts to prevent suicide and to address mental health issues within the AAPI community.
Can Truong, the subject of the documentary film "Can" (amongourkin.org), will speak about the film depicting his journey of healing and his lived experienced with mental illness during the community panel, the second part of this Briefing, which will not be streamed. Also in attendance will be the producer/director of "Can" Pearl J. Park, board member of Disability Rights New Jersey (drnj.org) and of the New Jersey Asian American Association for Human Services (njaaahs.org).
