We are excited to share that we will be hosting a four part Curation Clinics series on all things GitHub, a tool that has become an increasingly important part of the RDM ecosystem! This series is a joint collaboration between the FRDR curation team, Borealis,
and the Curation Expert Group (CEG).
The series will cover:
Session 1: Introduction to GitHub (Setting up an account, creating a repository, basic actions like cloning repo, push/pull requests etc. )
Session 2: Hosting a project website on GitHub
Session 3: Dataverse integration with GitHub
Session 4: Working with scripts on GitHub (accessing, using, updating - push/pull/get requests) - including a demo on curating CSV files.
The first session is scheduled for March, and we will be joined by Zeynep Cevik, Data Support Specialist at Borealis & Odesi support who will start us off on the GitHub journey!

To help ensure the series is delivered in a way that best supports community participation, we’ve included two poll questions (embedded below). These questions are intended to gather feedback on
session spacing and interest in having the sessions recorded. Your responses will help us understand whether participants would prefer sessions to be scheduled closer together for continuity or spaced farther apart to better accommodate calendars, workload,
and capacity, and whether folks would like to have recordings in case they are not able to attend. Please take a couple of minutes to answer the questions, we appreciate your feedback!
We look forward to your input and hope this series will be a valuable opportunity for skill‑building and discussion within the community.
If you have any questions, please reply to this email — and feel free to pass the invite along to colleagues who might be interested. We look forward to seeing you in March!
Poll:
How would you prefer the GitHub series to be scheduled?
Sincerely,
Tamanna
