Forward far and wide

This coming Saturday, March 17, people from all across the nation will converge in Washington D.C for the march on the Pentagon called for by International Answer. The Campus Antiwar Network invites all chapters, youth and students to join us in the Youth and Student contingent where we will be joined by World Can't Wait, The Hip-Hop Caucus, Answer Student and Youth, as well as many other student and youth organizations possibly including members of SDS.

We want CAN to have a very large presence at this demonstrations and call on all members to bring CAN signs, CAN banners, bull horns, and clip boards. We are also in need of volunteer who will canvass the crowd gathering contact information from many young people who will be in attendance at this march.

A map with the location of the student contingent can be found at:

Try your best to be there at Noon.

See you on the streets of D.C

CAN Unity Statement

College Not Combat, Troops Out Now!

The continued occupation of Iraq by US coalition forces is the most recent stage of a long standing racist war agsinst the Iraqi people. The Iraqi people will never be free as long as foreign occupiers remain in their country. Instead of preventing the deteoration of Iraqi society, the US military presence is actually the driving force behind the death and destruction ravaging the region.

Alongside escalating military operations in Iraq come escalating recruitment efforts to fill the military's shrinking ranks. In order to pay for their war on Iraq they are cutting spending on education, job training and disaster relief. Young people are watching educational opportunities in their schools diminish while recruiting efforts intensify. We refuse to stand by quietly as our generation gets signed up for endless war.
