service task vs send task

Hi,

For sending email, should I use send task or service task? seem both also can call the email function but what's the differences?

Actually, I need to automate the email notification process to always notify user to do the approval whenever there was a request assigned. Any good example on how to modeling this in bpm? I will need to integrate with external email system for the actual sending process.

Hence he would suggest (and I use) a service task java delegate. Have a look at this example in the Camunda examples...

Hi.

 

I agree – I would definitely use a ServiceTask in this case (because I do not see a difference to creating a letter or sending a fax).
