Hi

I'd like to know if Camunda has any options available for a Form Designer/Builder for the Human Tasks?

An example of what I was looking for is something like what K2 (http://www.k2.com/enterprise-forms-apps) or Appian (http://www.appian.com/bpm-software/bpm-for-designers/user-interface-design.jsp) offer

The form for both these Enterprise level BPM solutions are
- configurable via a Designer (can be dynamic, eg: if field x selected then show section z of the screen)
-  designed forms display in "multiple platforms for web browsers and mobile devices"

Does any one have any suggestions on how to get the same features as above within Camunda (is this something we'd have to develop our selves?)

Thank You
Melissa

Hi Melissa,

Currently there is no FormBuilder available out-of-the-box.

However, our tasklist uses embedded forms which are in fact plain HTML forms with some custom attributes / directives added. You could think about using a form builder library such as http://bootsnipp.com/forms?version=3 for designing the forms and then adding the custom camunda attributes and directives.

We are currently also greatly enhancing support for embedded forms and providing it through a self-contained camunda javascript Form SDK which can also be used standalone. This is currently still work in progress but a rubust implementation will be available for 7.2.0.Final. The fact that the form SDK can work in standalone mode (outside of the tasklist) may make it possible to combine an exiting formbuilder like the one I linked to above and the camunda FORMS SDK to build a custom development environment for forms.
