Hi there,

I read the installation process for JBoss AS 7.1.3 in here:
http://docs.camunda.org/guides/installation-guide/jboss/#platform

Then, I also saw a branch of camunda-bpm-platform called jboss-72 that doesn't seem to be reintegrated into master:

Which is the right way to install camunda into an existing JBoss EAP 6.1 (or AS 7.2.0) right now?
Thanks in advance :-)

Hola Alfonso! :-)

I suppose you are aware that you do not need to manually install camunda BPM on JBoss AS because you can download the camunda BPM JBoss distribution which already has the engine as well as all the other cool apps (task-list, cockpit and cycle) already pre-configured?

In contrast to other BPM engines, with camunda BPM you can have the engine running as part of your application server (JBoss, …) and deploy different applications that use the same engine.

If you want to develop an app with JavaEE technologies, have a look at an application I co-developed that is based on JBoss, CDI, JSF and Apache Camel: https://github.com/plexiti/the-job-announcement
Have a look at the "Building the Showcase Yourself" section in the README and you should be able to have the app running on your local camunda BPM JBoss AS server in no time. If you find any glitches please report them and I will be happy to help you out.

If you still would like to install and configure the camunda BPM platform on a plain-vanilla JBoss AS or EAP besides having a look at the docs that you already mentioned above, you can also have a look at the commit history of this camunda BPM Quickstart for JBoss EAP 6.0 on OpenShift project: https://github.com/rafacm/camunda-bpm-openshift-jboss-quickstart
I need to update the project to a more recent version… but you are very welcome to send a pull request! :-)
You can read the background to the project here http://rafael.cordones.me/tag/openshift/

Un saludo desde Viena,

/rafa

Gracias Rafa!
I followed your guidelines and I got it finally running on JBoss EAP 6.1.
