Camunda custom queries with Mybatis mappers

Hi I'm trying out Camunda 7.4 and there is a use case to build some custom queries. However all the samples and tutorials that are available discuss about using mapper.xml file [1]https://docs.camunda.org/manual/7.3/real-life/how-to/

where as I need to implement the mapper interface of Mybatis. [2] http://www.mybatis.org/mybatis-3/java-api.html Is it possible to do this with Camunda? I used to do this in Activiti with customSqlExecution, so just checking if camunda supports it too.
