Hi Jurgen,

I assumed that I can create any other tags in an image (Beside species) and import those tages into record tables. For example, I created tags like percent ground cover and percent snow cover. I did this without thoroughly looking at the code. Now when I looked at the code I realized my mistake but still in some hope I ran the code and, unsurprisingly, I could not get that information in the record table.

Probably there's a way to get that tag inside the species hierarchy similar to individual id within a species but I am not sure how to do it or if can even be done. I should have asked this question before doing this but am asking this just to be 100% sure if there's a way out (or none).

And maybe somebody else wouldn't make a similar mistake.

best,
yadav

Hi,
all assigned tags should be read out and added to the record table automatically. If that doesn't happen something is wrong. Did you add the tags using the same software as the species tags?
Please share:
  • your call to recordTable
  • the output of exifTagNames() for a tagged image (for an image with species tag and an additional tag).
  • output of sessionInfo()
Normally, all tags should appear under the metadata keyword HierarchicalSubject in the output of exifTagNames() . If that's not the case despite tagging the image and the assigned tags showing up in digiKam please share an example image.
Thank you,

Sorry Jurgen,

I kind of got lost after asking this question. Had to quickly finish the work I started so did this manually.

Regarding the use of software, the two tags were probably created using two different softwares. I did with digiKAM. I am not sure what was used before that.

Thank you!
