Hi team camtrapR!

I am having issues loading camtrapR.

> library(camtrapR)
Error: package or namespace load failed for ‘camtrapR’ in loadNamespace(i, c(lib.loc, .libPaths()), versionCheck = vI[[i]]):
there is no package called ‘stringi’

I have installed the latest version of the package and have an up to date version of R ( 4.1.3) and Rstudio (2022.02.2).

I have tried installing the package 'stringi' but it fails to install.

Any ideas on how might be able to troubleshoot this? I have successfully added and used camtrapR on an older version of R.

Thank you!!!

Hi,
I don't know what the issue with "stringi" is but the CRAN checks show an installation error for string on Windows with R 4.1.3:

Do you have the same error?

Update R to 4.2.1 and try reinstalling. Also make sure you install from a new and clean R session. If it still doesn't work, what exactly is the error message you get when installing stringi? Normally dependencies such as stringi should be installed automatically.
