Dear Young CAMRA Members,
The next CAMRA
Young Members event in the East Midlands will be the May-Day pub-crawl in
Nottingham. This Young Members event is now in its third year and is open to
members and non members from all over the UK.
WHAT: Pub-crawl of
Nottingham.
WHEN: 11am - 11pm, May-Day Bank Holiday, Monday 7th May
2007.
WHERE: The Vat & Fiddle, 12 -14 Queen's Bridge Road,
Nottingham, NG2 1NB, (out of the railway station, turn left, take the right
hand fork, walk for 2 minutes and it'll be on your right) will be the
starting point of the crawl at 11am.
DETAILS: Over 20 pubs were
visited during last years May-Day pub- crawl, following the Nottingham Mild
in May Trail, with each person drinking a half pint of Mild in most pubs and
a pint in some of them. Those who didn't like Mild drank other Real Ales.
We'll be visiting a minimum of 17 pubs this year.
Each participant of
the Mild Trail who visits a minimum of 8 pubs and drinks at least a half pint
of Mild in each gets a certificate, a free pint at Nottingham Beer Festival
in October, and also gets entered in to prize-draws for special edition Mild
Trail T-shirts and bottles of Mild. In addition to these prizes, all Milds
sold throughout May in Tynemill and Castle Rock pubs will qualify for their
'one over the eight' promotion.
We will be on a tight time-table if we
are to visit 17 pubs in the City Centre in 12 hours because a fair amount of
walking is involved. The pubs we'll be visiting are Vat & Fiddle, Globe,
Southbank, Riverway, Newshouse, Lamp, Moot Hall (if time allows, not on the
Mild trail), Bunkers Hill, Kean's Head, Lincolnshire Poacher, Nags Head
(if time allows, not on the Mild Trail), Turf Tavern (if time allows,
not on the Mild trail), Bell Inn (we'll take on some food
here), Salutation, Fellows Morton & Clayton, Canal House, Navigation,
Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Gatehouse, Falcon (if time allows, not on the
Mild trail) and finishing at the Portland Arms at about 11pm.
For
those of you travelling to Nottingham by train who willl have to leave before
the end of the crawl, all of the pubs on the crawl are less than a 30 minute
walk from the railway station.
HOW TO DO IT: It is very simple to take
part, just get a Mild Trail suppliment from the Nottingham Drinker, found in
most Real Ale pubs in Nottingham, or download and print one from the
Nottingahm CAMRA web- site at http://nottinghamcamra.org/mildtrail.htm. Go along to
the pubs listed, have half or a pint of Mild and ask for a sticker. Stick
the sticker on the appropriate square.
