When scrolling through our muon telescope data, we noticed a remarkable increase in counts on june 8 2024.
It lasted rather long; some 5 hours.
In the plot the time is given in minutes from midnight start in UT.
So the starttime is 1:20
Maximum is at 1:52
end is 6:40
From the plot our beam direction is
RA=18.5H or 277 degrees.
DEC= 40.3 degrees
It took some googling, but finally I found this website
https://grb.mpe.mpg.de/grb/GRB240608104/?data_version=v00Indeed at that time and in that direction a gamma ray burst was detected.
A BALROG was determined; not a LOTR hint, but meaning "BAyesian Location Reconstruction Of GRBs" (BALROG).
I have painted our result into that plot also.
There are differences like 30 minutes trigger time, 48 degree in RA, 15 degree in DEC.
But the error margin of the official data is also high.
We have a beam width of 13 degrees.
I will try to contact the research team and present our data.
Often there will not be any response, but we will try anyway.
Next I will analyse the data some more. We have 4 beams; so we will plot them too some time.
