Inan ill-advised attempt to hold position, I send it down the inside to the apex, but did not quite make it there in time. No one taking a more traditional line felt like cedeing the corner to me, and I was informed of this with the nose of their karts as our vectors vectored.
Fortunately a swift kick to the behind from Alec, as he passed (or got entangled, depends on how you look at it), pointed me in the right direction. I put my nose down and soldiered on, looking for my son, whom I found again. We had a good race. Then we went to Cava with Alec.
The Special Karts section allows you to select from bespoke karts that cannot be customized (although they may use some as parts, like the Retro Kart using the Retro Wheels). Their inclusion here is because they cannot be customized with Stickers, Paint Jobs, Decals or Wheels, and many of these attributes can also not be applied to normal karts (such as the wheels of the Xfinity Flash Kart).
This kart is low-polygon version of the Classic body meant to evoke the kart seen in the intro, Adventure character select and the boss cutscenes of the original PS1 game. It's equipped with Retro Wheels that are also available for other kart Bodies in the Wheels section. The engine sound of this kart is also the same one used for Balanced class characters in the PS1 game.
It comes in eight colours, each associated with a starting character: Blue (Crash), Pink (Coco), Red (Cortex), Indigo (Pura), Aqua (Polar), Purple (N. Gin), Green (Tiny) and Olive (Dingodile).

Despite the hard hit, the race continued under green flag conditions, eventually being red flagged after several other karts piled up in response. The first on scene was Gravity Kart Club team manager Li Chen Yingxuan, followed by the rest of the team and several members of other teams. Yingxuan performed CPR on his driver. Someone called the ambulance to the scene, all the while the Kart Club alleges the marshals stood by uncaringly. The ambulance, the team said, took several minutes to arrive on scene, having to navigate tight passages blocked by equipment.
Flowers and lit candles make up a makeshift memorial on the Meriden Green. All of this part of vigil remembering six-year-old Adrian Warzecha, who died in a go-kart crash at Kronenberger Park on Tuesday.
Special Karts are karts bodies with pre-set elements such as wheels, paint jobs and stickers, that cannot be customized. They have their own menu in the kart select screen separate from individual elements. Special Karts are only available from special editions and promotional events.
Retro Karts are low-poly models of the Classic Kart Body with the same textures as the original karts of the main roster of Crash Team Racing. Their Wheels can be equipped independently on other kart bodies, but their unique Paint Jobs cannot be used elsewhere. They are only available on the PlayStation 4 version of Nitro-Fueled and come with "Retro" skins of Crash Bandicoot, Coco Bandicoot and Doctor Neo Cortex and the Retro Stadium track.[1]
The Firehawk kart is modeled after a classic military plane and behaves like a hover kart. It can be purchased as DLC for a limited time as part of the annual Call of Duty Endowment charity event held by Activision. It was introduced at the beginning of the Spooky Grand Prix.[2]
The Xfinity Flash is modeled after a race car and has its own set of Legendary-tier wheels, which behaves similarly to the Neon Wheels. Each code can be used twice to redeem the kart, regardless of region-lock. These codes can only be redeemed up to May 31st.
Crash Nitro Kart is a 2003 kart racing game for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and Game Boy Advance; versions for the N-Gage and mobile phones were released in 2004. It is the second racing game in the Crash Bandicoot series after Crash Team Racing and the first game in the series to feature full motion videos.[4]
The game's story centers on the abduction of Crash Bandicoot, along with other characters in the series, by the ruthless dictator Emperor Velo XXVII. Threatening to destroy the Earth if they refuse, he forces them to race in his gigantic coliseum for the entertainment of his subjects.
Crash Nitro Kart was met with generally mixed critical reception, which varied amongst its differing versions. The primary console version received mixed reviews, with many critics deeming it inferior to its predecessor Crash Team Racing, but praising the game's presentation. The Game Boy Advance version saw an improvement, while reviews for the N-Gage version were middling, with much of the criticism directed at the game's "tunnel vision". Content from the console version was later remastered as part of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, released on June 21, 2019.[5]
Crash Nitro Kart is a racing game in which the player controls characters from the Crash Bandicoot series, most of whom race in karts. While racing, the player can accelerate, steer, reverse, brake, hop or use weapons and power-ups with the game controller's analog stick and buttons.[6] Four distinct types of crates are scattered throughout the tracks and arenas of Crash Nitro Kart. "Item Crates" are marked with a question mark (?) and usually come in sets of four. The player can obtain a weapon or power-up by driving through an Item Crate and breaking it apart. The player can only carry one weapon or power-up at a time. "Multiplier Crates" are marked with an "X" and are usually found in hard-to-reach spots on the tracks. These special crates contain three of a certain weapon or power-up. "Wumpa Crates" are unmarked and carry "Wumpa Fruit" that strengthens the player's weapons and power-ups if ten of them are obtained. "Activation Crates" are marked with an exclamation point (!) and activate either a boost pad or a trap that can slow down the other racers.[7]
