Hey guys,
I was wondering if anybody has written a questionnaire-type assessment for their vendors to fill out to give you an idea of what they think of the market.

Phil,
Here at North Carolina State University we have included a graduate student studying statistics in our markets organization. She worked with her professor to come up with a survey for customers that she will later assess as a part of her graduate requirements. After working with her professor, she is allowed to count the survey as credit towards her masters. This was great as it benefited both her and our market. Let me know if that helps, and I could probably obtain an electronic copy of the survey if you'd like to see it.

There are a few resources in FMC's resource library, some of which which I have also attached here. If you want to browse through other evaluation resources, type in 'survey' as a keyword, or click on the category 'Surveys, Evaluation, & Research.'
You may want to check out the handouts and presentation from a webinar session FMC held back in July on market measurement:

There's a lot of useful stuff in the handouts (PDF) on various topics of measurement, including the summary of data from a vendor survey conducted by the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance in Seattle. They already know sales data because their fee structure is percentage-based, and the farmer application is robust enough to collect a lot of farm characteristic data, so their survey questions are really geared toward feedback on management practices.
Eric, et al, it would be great if you submitted the surveys that you had devised into the FMC Resource Library to share with others in the FM community. We're doing some upgrades right now and by Monday the new submit form should be fully functional.
