from Bengal to Assam to Kerala, on issues such as infrastructure,
worker living conditions and sanitation. Prior to embarking on the
engagements, Fellows will have an opportunity to interact with clients
as well as our founding batch of Fellows to learn further about their
experiences and expectations. Below are further details on the
engagements. *Engagement I: Creating a road map for trade and industry
in the Barak Valley of Assam * Opportunity: Work as a Fellow in
Silchar, Assam, to create a roadmap for future trade and industry in
the Barak Valley of Assam by: a.) Identifying bottle-necks in
transport infrastructure and connectivity, and different agencies to
connect with to resolve the same. b.) Analyzing and creating a roadmap
to tap the trade and industry potential in the region. Client: Member
of Legislative Assembly, Sushmita Dev, Assam Congress *Engagement II:
Improving worker conditions in the Jute Industry in West Bengal *
Opportunity: Work as a Fellow in Barrackpore, West Bengal to improve
worker health and living conditions in the jute industry by: a.)
Identifying causes for poor worker living conditions b.) Proposing and
implementing programs to improve worker living conditions Client:
Member of Parliament, Dinesh Trivedi, Trinamool Congress, West Bengal
*Engagement III: Working cross-sector in infrastructure, water and
sanitation in Kerala *Opportunity : Work as a Fellow in the twin
cities of Ernakulam and Kochi and its expanding suburbs Thrikakara and
Vypin in Kerala, and provide recommendations for clean drinking water,
infrastructure and waste management by: a.) Identifying core issues in
specific sectors/constituencies b.) Recommend programs to overcome the
issues and implement solutions. Client: Member of Legislative
Assembly, Hibi Eden (ex-President National Students Union of India),
