Hello All,

I’m interested in talking to other campus’s about how their various campus information systems’ data is accumulated and dispersed.  Some examples are the Building Automation Systems, the Plant Controls System, Maximo (or other similar system), timekeeping, Space Management, etc.  Most of our systems are currently separate and I’m curious to know what other campus’ experiences have been trying to integrate all these sources into a central database for the various users’ reports.  Any experiences good or bad or companies you can recommend would be helpful.

Regards,

Purdue University has purchased eDNA through Instep (Chicago area). This will be a data historian that will be importing points from two different building control systems, meters, and our powerplant data historian, thus allowing students some access and administrators / engineers / operations and maintenance personnel to access additional information. There is also an analytical package and enterprise billing system that is available.

We have a fair amount of experience in the area.  I would be happy to discuss it, but request a phone call rather than e-mail.  It’s simply too complex to try to write down a simple answer.  Feel free to call if you wish.

Lewis,

My firm, utiliVisor, specializes in energy metering and plant analysis
services that collect data from the types of sources you named. Our
applications take the data, push it to the web, and display the data
with the benefits of some added analysis features. We also have a
full time staff of licensed and degreed operating engineers that are
able to make energy efficiency recommendations if the campus is
looking to decrease its energy spend.

It sounds like our service is similar to what you are looking for. Do
you think we could set up a live demonstration to see if it fits your
needs?

Thanks,
