Robert Axle QR Adapters for Kid Trailers and Cargo Trailers are designed specifically to fit your 5mm quick release bike and allow attachment of any hitch-mounted trailer. These QR Hitch Adapters fit any trailer that has two wheels and a single point of attachment to the axle. This includes all the two-wheeled child, pet and cargo trailers such as: Thule, Chariot, Burley, Instep, Carry Freedom, and many more.

Purchase our QR Hitch Adapter for your bike. Share your stoke for cycling with your kids. Simplify your life by allowing quick and secure attachment of your trailer to your best and favorite bike. Enjoy the adventure.

The Robert Axle Project Quick Release Hitch Adapter is for bikes with 5mm quick release rear axles. Our hitch adapter for towing kid trailers and single-arm bike trailers is high quality and precisely machined. This includes all the two-wheeled child, pet and cargo trailers such as: Thule, Chariot, Burley, Instep, Carry Freedom, and many more.

Our hitch adapter uses a 5 mm hex to attach your hitch and precious cargo more securely than with other knurled adapters. When installing the hitch, the 5 mm hex isolates and protects dropouts from marring and over-tightening of the quick release.

I had originally purchased and used the Burley adapter but was frustrated with its design. In order for you to torque the nut, you have to finger grip the knurled adapter body. Unless you have incredible grip strength, it was very difficult for me to keep the adapter from rotating while torquing the nut.

The Robert Axle Project adapter solves this problem by allowing you to use a hex wrench to hold the adapter body in place. This makes it far easier to properly torque the nut. Their version also includes a washer and uses a nylon lock nut which should resist loosening and is therefore safer.

Works perfect for us. Fits the Thule Chariot cougar 2 coupler. We have two Raleigh bikes, class 1 electric, non electric, both with five mm quick release skewers. The threaded attachment fits perfectly. Just flip the skewer hook up and go!

The adapter worked great for connecting a trailer, however the instructions did not match the kit itself. The instructions referred to a few different washers included in the kit, however the kit only had one washer. It also mentioned to hold the spacer in place with a 17mm wrench, however the spacer is completely smooth and there is nowhere to hold it in place with a wrench. Instead, it requires an allen key hold in place. If the instructions were correct, this would be 5 stars.

I recently purchased (2x) 5mm Quick Release Hitch Adapters for our RetroSpec Rover Hauler single-arm bike trailer. Our bikes have PinHead Lock 5mm QR axles, and everything worked perfectly together! I added a stainless steel sleeve washer to eliminate the slack between the RAP M10x1 adapter axle and the bike trailer mount. So far the performance is simply fantastic! Thank you so much for making awesome products!!

I ordered a fitting to connect to my Eureka stove and my ANCIENT Sunbeam grill (lava rocks even!) they take one pound canisters and everything connected properly.. I did pull the sleeve back, clicked in and turned the lever on the quick connect...and no go. Both onboard propane tanks are full and open. There's Just a tiny bit of gas flowing and a tiny flame on both the stove and grill. I don't claim to know much about regulators or propane fittings but are these regulators just too many in line after the main? How does this work or will it work? I went to the back by the bumper to see if that one worked and its been capped off. It's not absolutely necessary but Id like to know how it operates! Thanx for any input!

I kinda figured that.. My Eureka has a proprietary fitting so I'm sure that isnt going to work. As you can see the grill has its own ancient reg and it just literally sets inside the tube.. So I guess I wont be using it for anything. What appliances do work??

I contacted Oliver as I was trying to use my Genesis stove connected to the Oliver quick connect fitting. Oliver told me that the pressure at the quick connects is 11 inches of water column pressure and that since Oliver has a pressure regulator at the tanks you should not use a second regulator at the stove.

2. There are hoses and fittings that you can purchase so you could connect the stove to a stand alone 20 lb propane bottle. This would allow you to use the stove's regulator, but you would have to bring another propane bottle with you.

I have a Coleman Road trip Grill and a Sequoia portable fire ring both have the regulator built into the hose not attached to the thing itself. I had to buy extra hoses for each with quick connect fitting. But I can use either with the quick connect on the trailer or connect to a separate propane tank. There are also kits out there for Weber and Blackstone grills to adapt to quick connects with low pressure.

Maybe someday I'll buy a Blackstone or a firepit but for the most part I carry a five pound tank and almost always set up near the picnic table. I imagine at a concert, festival or car race having a way to cook near your trailer would be nice. If I have to re-plumb the whole thing, I don't see the original function. I'd be interested in the parts to do it however in case I want it in the future. Thanks for your help everyone!

We have the front and back quick connects. We have a propane fire pit and a blackstone grill. We also purchased a 20' hose in addition to the 10' hose that came with our firepit which allows us to set up further from the trailer if wanted/needed. We use both ports most every trip.

I know that there are fire bans in many places especially out west but I live and camp primarily where campfires are still allowed. Maybe if I get to go out west again, I'll invest in one of those cute firepits. As far as a blackstone, I'm old school and still like my old Sunbeam grill, tiny and portable and my trusty cast iron pans!

Here are the parts I used to tee off the Ollie 30 lb tank and connect to an old dual gasoline Coleman stove. I used another adapter on the list to convert the Coleman stove to propane. I could leave the tee on the Ollie tank but so far I have removed it for travel. This set up will work for other appliances that use the 1lb propane tanks.

BOB Quick Release: Quick release (QR) rear axles have been around for decades and are commonly found on older bikes. Visit the QR product pages for a fit guide if you do not know your bike's rear drop out dimensions, which will determine the quick release length required. A QR is also used to attach the trailer wheel on all BOB trailers.

Thru-Axles: Many modern bikes are equipped with thru-axles. These are larger diameter (12mm) axles designed to add rigidity and strength. They do not have a pair of springs characteristic of a quick release. Visit the Robert Axle Project Thru-Axles product page for more info and a fit guide.
