If your Office has expired, consider purchasing or subscribing to the latest version of Microsoft Office. This will provide the necessary product key and keep you up-to-date with updates and features.

Are you seeking ways to activate Microsoft Office? There are a few options! You can activate it without a product key, or with one. Or, you can activate an expired version for free. Furthermore, we will discuss how to activate Microsoft Word and Office 365 without payment. Lastly, we will provide instructions on activating Microsoft Office 2019.

Once you have a product key, the activation process is fairly simple. Open an Office application and follow the prompts to enter your product key. This will activate your copy of Microsoft Office and unlock all its features.

For a free Office 365 activation, consider signing up for an educational account. Many schools offer students and faculty access to Office 365 with their school email addresses. This allows you to use all its features without paying for a subscription.

I bought new tablet that was supposed to come with Microsoft Office 365 (free 1 year subscription). I'm hoping the latest Word has a number of problems fixed that I have experienced in Word 2010 and 2013.

I'm trying to use office, but I keep getting prompted to activate it. I'd like to use an offline registration method to avoid sharing any data with Microsoft or the need for a Hotmail account. Or I would like to modify the registry and add the "activated bits" (or whatever they are using to indicate activated).

The tablet you purchased came with Office 365 Personal. Office 365 requires an internet connection in order to activate. Every version of Office requires you to activate your license. Specifically Office 365 Personal is a subscription based service, that allows you to always have the current version of Office installed, for the length your subscription is active.

Internet access is required to install and activate all the latest releases of Office suites and all Office 365 subscription plans. For Office 365 plans, Internet access is also needed to manage your subscription account, for example to install Office on other PCs or to change billing options. Internet access is also required to access documents stored on OneDrive, unless you install the OneDrive desktop app. You should also connect to the Internet regularly to keep your version of Office up to date and benefit from automatic upgrades. If you do not connect to the Internet at least every 39 days, your applications will go into reduced functionality mode, which means that you can view or print your documents, but cannot edit the documents or create new ones. To reactivate your Office applications, reconnect to the Internet. You do not need to be connected to the Internet to use the Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, because the applications are fully installed on your computer.

You cannot It is not possible. All you actually need is a Microsoft Account, but since all Microsoft Accounts, even those connected to another email service come with an Outlook Mail account both are not possible.

License Agreements have been upheld in court numerous times. If you want to be able to use Office without a Microsoft Account, the only thing I can suggest is to, purchase the full version of Office 2013.

I am configuring 20 new W10 PCs for a lab. None of this is volume licensing.
I bought the licenses through retail channels. For each PC I purchased a copy of Office Home and Business 2019 (SKU-TSD-03341)
As expected I now have 20 Product keys. I intended to assign and enter a particular key into a particular PC.

However when I attempt to activate office I am prompted to enter an email address.
These are generic lab computers and not specific to a user. How can I activate office with just the key?
I did attempt to use the command

However I received an error, " The Software Licensing Service reported that the product key is invalid."
As a test I validated the the product key worked because I used the Office activation GUI, entering an email address and it accepted the key.

The office 2019 licenses were purchased and I received 20 boxes and inside each box was a card with a valid product key.
When I entered the product key it gave me no option other than to enter an email address.

You can't get away installing Office2013+ retail without a Microsoft account. Please contact Microsoft licensing support and see if they can help you transfer to VL license so you can manage with KMS.

If they can't, most likely you'll have to create a central Microsoft account to host all the product keys, and then use that user as local admin to install Office in those machines. (This takes advantage of the fact that it won't use an "already activated" key on different computers) However you should still check with Microsoft licensing support and see if there is any problem (I vaguely remember there is a limit for number of users that can use Office on that PC this way but unable to confirm.)

This of course was quite cumbersome because I had to verify the new account which meant I needed to retrieve the code that microsoft emailed to each account.
I had to temporarily forward the email from those new accounts to my account which was not good since I am just setting these up, not maintaining them.

After that I had to solve a puzzle on each computer to prove I was a human. (The puzzle was not a simple "type the letters" question. It had between 15 to 20 question screens per computer asking me to select the graphics so that was about 350 screens total that I had to click through. I am not kidding!

Finally after that I was forced to provide a phone number to allow the account to be created.
When I didn't provide the phone number it sent me back to the beginning and I had to start from scratch again and reenter the product key and answer the questions again.

Also Microsoft then complained that the same phone number was already in use so I had to come up with 10 unique phone numbers as it only allows the same phone number to be used twice. (It would not accept burner numbers... I tried that)

So I had to contact 10 of my colleagues and tell that what I was doing and ask them to send me the code they received from a microsoft text message.
Of course it is a weird thing to ask someone else to send me the code they received on their phone. very sus'...and what happens if any of them try to register with microsoft in the future and it complains that their number is already in use?

This was unnecessary busy work and added an extra 30 minutes per machines multiplied by 20 machines.
I did set up the machines concurrently so there was overlap but I still wasted at least three hours on this.

Are there any other alternative?
Is there a phone number I could have called that would have allowed me to key in the product key and provide me an activation code.
I looked but I couldn't find that option for this version of office.

This is also my problem. I have purchased 20 license keys and when i try to activate the Microsoft Office on our 20 PC, it asks for Microsoft Account. This are PC for a school charity so it's a hustle. We made 20 different gmail account to become 20 microsoft account for the sake of activation.

I upgraded my account from Office 365 Business Pro Plus to M365 Enterprise E3 licensing. I am testing the subscription license activation for a client and things are not going to plan. I have followed every TechNet and forum article that I could find (some MS some not) and nothing seems to be working. I have used slmgr /upk then /cpky to remove the "Evaluation" key on to test on a clean install (re-image) and have tried with the Firmware based key, all to no avail. So I opened a ticket with MS. The subject line of the first ticket clearly said Windows 10, but it got routed to an O365 technician (who basically said he couldn't help and then closed said ticket). So I opened ANOTHER one. This time, I get told that the subscription license only provides an upgrade path from Pro to Enterprise. Well, being a bit aggravated by this point, I basically replied that I refuse to believe the company that gave us Intune and SCCM now suddenly believes that no machine will EVER need to be reimaged and that I felt that the ticket needed to be escalated. My "escalation path" from Ms. Bhawna Punyani was to come here and ask the same question yet again. So here I am. How in blazes do I get this subscription to activate. The system is AAD joined, and registered in Intune if that matters, and nothing I have tried works. Please advise.

@sxc7886I've tried it both with my client's KMS activation and without. Neither way was successful. I've also tried using the Evaluation edition, which should have provided the same results. My client has asked me to test this out before they buy several thousand M365 E3 licenses. If I can't get it to work or if it is this big of a fiasco to activate every one of them, then I can assure you that they will not be subscribing. This should not be this difficult.

End of story. We should not have to be jumping through 4 million hoops on this and I will not buy a Pro license just so that it activates. That's insane. Are we going to need to install Pro every single time we reimage a machine??? That's bonkers. This should be a simple Tier 1 fix not a (what is now going on) 3 week affair.

Does any user have issues logging into OWA? What is the exact error the user receives when attempting to authenticate or activate the license? I would also check Azure to make sure Federation is enabled.

Did you download Office from the portal while logged in as the user? I made the mistake years ago downloading the install stub from the portal while logged in with a different account and then using that executable to install to multiple machines - once that user account went away, so did the activations.
