Howdy Mora Folk,
Just want to let you know that this is bonfire remembrance week. Texas
A&M is honoring the fact that it has been 10 years since we lost 12
aggies in the collapse of the 1999 stack.
Here is a video:

It was most tragic event that this University had to encounter but it
showed the respect that each aggie has for one another, the Aggie
Spirit was exemplified through great measures. I was only 10 years old
when the collapse fell and I was not informed of this tragic event.
Coming as a freshmen, I was kind of out of the loop of the event, but
I learned a lot from people's stories and visiting the memorial.
I was going to go up to the bonfire memorial on Sunday, November 13th
at 9pm. I would love for you guys to come with me, it is definately my
favorite place on campus. I could answer any questions you have about
bonfire and the collapse of '99, tell you some background information,
and do a tour of the memorial (it is chalk full of symbolism).
You also have the chance to experience some great events going on
campus: to get the full effect of bonfire
There is a bonfire exhibit that will be up in Rudder 9am-2pm 13th-16th
Saturday-Monday
and G. Rollie White colliseum on the 17th and 18th, Tuesday and
Wednesday 9am-5pm
Bonfire Remembrance Program in Reed Arena 8pm
Is only for this year of the 10 year anniversary. Having the '99
student body president speak, the core commander, one of the families
of the 12 fallen, and a bonfire video.
2:42 am Candle light vigil at the Bonfire Memorial on November 18th
Bookstore is also selling Bonfire T-shirts $10- all profits go towards
bonfire memorial
I hope you take advantage of all this campus has to offer and help
remember the 12 fallen aggies. They were students just like you and me
that were just showing their passion for the university and the true
Aggie Spirit. So I think the least we can do is bring the Aggie Family
together to honor them.
